I tried pipe cleaners when I first started making animals, but I didn't like how they looked and didn't feel they were strong enough, even thou they're easier to felt, than plain wire.

Oh and about the eyes - thanks! But there's no secret -they're just felted!

He is standing on my hand...so about 5" long


And yes, itchy -do use a wire frame next time -it'll make a huge difference (I barely make anything without wire these days )- it's harder in a way a felt it, but gives a better shape and some poseability (sp?).
