1  UNITED STATES / Alabama / Yarn Shop in Auburn on: March 02, 2011 04:54:40 PM
I live in Auburn and just stumbled upon a cool yarn shop.  I think it's pretty new, but the owner is really nice and says she'll give free knitting lessons to anyone who stumbles in the door.  There are also a lot of scheduled classes it seems, but I haven't tried any of them out yet.

Pure awesome.  What dimensions did you use?  How much fabric did it take?  I think I am going to have to make one for my husband. :-)
5  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: want to make my one yr old a pumpkin HELP!!!!!!!!! on: October 20, 2009 06:02:09 AM
I made a pumpkin costume for my three year old last year and essentially I used a tute for a bubble skirt and made that orange, but I added green fabric on top for shoulder straps to make it into a pumpkin shirt of sorts.  Added some fabric leaves and vines for extra effect.  She wore brown pants with it, or you could just make the pumpkiny part into more of a dress than I did.  You can see how it turned out here  http://www.associatedcontent.com/slideshow/9053/the_bat_and_the_pumpkin.html?cat=74

I just googled bubble skirt to find a tute on that.

Hope this helps.

10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Puffy Scratch-Made Chocoalte Chip Pancakes...Mmmmm.... on: December 15, 2008 12:00:28 PM
My kids like making "rainbow" pancakes on Saturday mornings with me.  We split the batter into several different bowls and add different color food coloring to each bowl.  Then the kids tell me what they want me to make and I try to make the pancakes look like things like rainbows, bugs, butterflies, teddy bears, etc and because my kids have a VERY good imagination we have a lot of fun.
