Well it takes me less than an hour to do each granny square... I don't know about the putting-together bit yet, but it looks pretty simple.

I've been really busy finishing up school, and knitting up graduation presents for my friends, but I do have well over half of my granny squares done.  Only problem is, as I got going now they're kind of all different sizes, so I may have to frog a lot of them.

That picture shows as far as the colors change, from the most brown in the center to the most green on the outer edge, so I think I'm gonna keep on with it and see how it turns out.


ETA:  My biggest problem now is that now I've got the hang of it, this is ALL I want to do!  And I have an essay due tomorrow!   

So I know it's taken a while (what can I say... college.  ) but I finally got around to figuring out how to follow the pattern/diagram, and did up my first (ever!) granny square...



But now I'm kind of worried.  Since this is done square buy square, is a yarn with a variegated color like this even going to work?  Or will it end up looking funny?

I may try this out, though I've never actually crocheted anything before (have most of the skills down, though).  I bought some yarn today for a knitted clapotis (or so I thought), but it really really wants to be something crocheted and lacy instead...

I love absolutely everything about these socks!

I'm working on my first pair of socks now, and nothing nearly as fancy as this, but it's exciting to see what one can do!
