So I know it's taken a while (what can I say... college.  ) but I finally got around to figuring out how to follow the pattern/diagram, and did up my first (ever!) granny square...



But now I'm kind of worried.  Since this is done square buy square, is a yarn with a variegated color like this even going to work?  Or will it end up looking funny?

Hello, hello!  I wanted to show off my first felted bag—actually my first bag of any kind!  This was also my first knit gift (we'll see how it's accepted this weekend), my first knitting-in-the-round, and my first fair-isle project.  Yeah, I like to take a lot on at once.

I used this pattern, with teensy little alterations, and I love how it turned out so much that I'm sure I'll be making one up for myself.  Took me less than a day to do, in all!
