PS: I'm totally making Ryan the world's most adorable old-man cardigan. I hope to finish it by Christmas and mail it to him! Because, let's face it, if anyone deserves a precious old man cardigan...it's Ryan.

My gauge seemed off, the yarn I was using was too thick. I'll practice on some slightly-less-bulky yarn.

Well, they look nothing like the ones that other people were posting, and were really, really concave. I was using the wrong yarn, but I think I'll start again with the right stuff, and if I mess up again I'll post pics.

I'm a new crocheter (I taught myself a few weeks ago and have only made a hat so far) and I'm having trouble with the triangles. Mine just...don't look right. Is there anything obvious that I'm missing here?

Are there any online crochet magazines similar to Knitty, but for crochet patterns? A lot of the patterns I've found online for free aren't particularly "hip"...

I'm restarting this for the third time...out of sheer laziness/distractedness, I always seem to mess up either on the first or second row. I gave up on the invisible cast-on, because mine kept coming out incredibly loose no matter what I did, so I'm going cable cast-on instead...wish me luck!

It fits my head pretty much perfectly and stays up fine, but for extra support I use two bobby pins in the front.

This is my first, 110% successful, non-square project. It's....a big, slouchy tam! I've been wanting one so badly, so I whipped this up instead of spending $30+ on one at a fancy store. And now, pictures!









If for some reason the pictures don't work, just let me know.

PS: I used http://www.chezcrochet.com/page60.html as the basis for the tam. I followed very closely in the beginnning, but skipped about half of the end and made up my own decreases. It's a wonderful pattern though, and I highly reccomend it.

I'm interested too- unfortunately, I'm a college student in Kalamazoo without a car, but I could arrange for a family member to drive me (like one of my very crafty and also Michigan-located sisters!)
