1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitty dashing - I thought I'd got it.... on: December 02, 2007 07:43:23 PM
Are you repeating everything within the brackets [] twice? Basically to lay it out the row goes: Slip 4 stitches onto cable (hold in back), K4, P1, Knit 4 stitches from cable needle, P1 (2), K4, P1 (2), K4, P1. Then repeat this again within that same row. I'm not sure if that helps but sometimes I need to lay everything out in front of me to be able to see it. I hope that helps I'm never sure if the way I think helps other people Wink good luck. I'm knitting them too right now!

rougeau26 i went to ysolda's site and i didnt have the problems you described. you should email her though because when i bought the pattern her blog was down from switching servers. she is really prompt about answering emails and im sure you could just buy it that way. i got her email from her blog its mail@ysolda.com. good luck!

Thanks for all of the nice comments! i encourage every one to make this beret because it was so fun and fast. i hardly ever buy patterns (hooray for being a broke college student) but i just knew this one would be worth the money!

burntcupcake-i have noticed there are a lot of redheads that knit but i have a secret...im not a real redhead...oh the shame! hehe i think thats the only thing ive ever held against my parents!

oh noes beware the curse of the beret! actually it isnt a bad curse more of a "im going to spend all my money on yarn for berets" curse. I finished Gretel last week but just got around to taking pictures. I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so i can wear this. i love the pattern and it knit up really fast. this was my first time using Malabrigo and i think i am totally addicted. I used just under one ball.

hyerac- I love the gretel pattern. I just adore Ysolda's designs and they are always well written. I only have a couple inches done but i can already tell its going to be one of my favorite hats.

Roe-you're welcome! the le slouch pattern is practically instant gratification. I think every one that has been made that i've seen looks fabulous. its an all around fantastic pattern.

I love it! Where did you get the pattern?

The pattern is by Knit and Tonic's Wendy Bernard and you can get the pattern here:

Incidentally, I also love your necklace.

Thanks! In addition to a beret obsession I also have a vintage costume jewelry obsession. My BF's mom gave this one to me for my birthday.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm relatively new to the whole Craftster thing and it's fun to get feedback on my projects!
