1  Re: Dreamcatcher Swap in The Swap Gallery by amnesia on: July 20, 2014 02:14:27 AM
I received (technically) a few days ago but just picked it up from my mailbox today... and what a lovely surprise it was!! Grin

First, everything came in this really pretty lacquer box with a lotus symbol on it -- love it!

Inside the box was an adorable card and some bow-shaped hairpins:

And the dreamcatcher itself was just the perfect size -- I love the webbing and the asymmetrical style!  I also thought it looked really nice regardless of which side you saw it from.. so nicely crafted!!

Thank you mouseatethekitty for such a lovely package!  I loved everything and it was truly a treat!

4  Re: Fabric Art Journal Pages Swap - Send out December 16 in The Swap Gallery by amnesia on: December 30, 2013 10:05:25 PM
I received my page while I was out of town, so I finally got home and had my mail dropped off -- I was so overjoyed when I opened the package!  Angielou1 did an absolutely beautiful job on this!  The colors are even more lovely in person!

This has been such a fantastic swap!  What terrific ideas people have had!

Mine!  Gallery for Group 1

I went with a folded, appliqued kabuto (samurai helmet).  My husband had me fold our napkins (120 of them!) into kabuto for our wedding reception, so when I was thinking of the theme, it was the first thing that popped into my head.

Rockets -- using Japanese novelty print and a Japanese traditional indigo print

(The pattern on the left is more of a browny- taupe than it looks like here).

I received Friday but have been absolutely buried by work, so I;m just now posting..cmarion3 sent an absolutely beautiful decorated envelope with matching coordinated stationary inside that was wrapped up just beautifully!  What is hard to tell is that these have lovely semi-translucent qualities in place -- I just love the craftsmanship!

Thank you for a lovely work of art!

7  Re: Namaste - Yoga and Mindful Living Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by amnesia on: July 06, 2013 03:39:46 PM
I received an absolutely amazing package from dreadlocklove yesterday!

The centerpiece is this amazing 9 FOOT LONG prayer banner which is made up of chakra-themed knit and beaded prayer flags that have then been joined together to make a continuous banner.  I couldn't figure out how to get in all in a photo, so I've shown it as best I can in the two photos below.  It's gorgeous and textured and cozy!  I don't think I can say enough good things about this -- I just love it!

She's also studying herbalism and included handmade essential oils in a "Happiness blend" and a diffuser and a book on meditation.  Thank you so much for such a warm and thoughtful package!  I've been stressed out studying for a summer school final exam on Monday and this absolutely made my weekend!

8  Re: Superhero and Comic Fans Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by amnesia on: June 30, 2013 04:24:31 PM
I received an awesome package Friday from my swap angel bookstorebabe!  Check out the awesome loot -- it makes the wait totally worthwhile!  Thanks so much for being awesome!  I like a mix of superhero, steampunk and girly manga types of comics, so this was a really nice cross-section of all three!

-Comic books!

-Kabuki comic journal (so cool -- I'm already using it!)

-Photo book

-Handkerchief purse

-Jewelry loot!  Steampunk jewelry box with 2 necklaces (one with female heroes and the other with the main character from Appleseed) and wonderwoman barrettes (which I am wearing today -- yay!)

I received a lovely set of 2 altered tin shrines from my partner on the theme of "I wandered lonely as a cloud"... simple, but excellently done, I really thought these were extraordinarily lovely!  They make me think light, happy thoughts!  Thank you so much mariak!

10  Re: Fill-A-Box Lucky 13 - US Only GALLERY (MAIL BY 4/27/13) in The Swap Gallery by amnesia on: May 03, 2013 11:06:38 PM
I received earlier this week and am finally getting around to posting -- so much lovely fabric!  I can't wait to use it in my quilting and sewing projects!  It's hard to see in this photo, but there were also great beading and jewelry supplies, cording and feathers!  I can't wait to use everything! Thanks for an awesome package!
