21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Chenille bibs on: August 03, 2007 08:53:30 AM
I heart these new bibs!  They are chenille on one side and just plain cotton on the other.  I debated putting anything between the layers, but they are pretty thick and absorbant.  And they are a good size for a toddler.

That is adorable.  So to finish the bottom of the onesie, did you just serge it?  I really need a serger...

I'm bumping this again with the hopes of finding a tute.  Anyone?

Awesome!  Great work!

Does anyone know if there is a tutorial floating around for something similar?

That is great!  It looks so professional with the silk screening.  Add me to the list that would love to learn how.

Thank you all for the replies.  I am using red satin ribbon with a black and toile bag.  I am so excited and will post a pic when I am done.

Julie, that bag is gorgeous!
27  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hi! I'm new and have a question about sewing fusible fleece on: July 14, 2007 04:16:32 PM
I've sewed a lot with fusible fleece and I have never had to do anything different.  Maybe just try fusing a piece of scrap fleece to your scrap fabric and then play around with the tension to see if that helps.

I get it at Wal-Mart right next to the regular interfacing.  There is non-fusible and fusible, so make sure you notice what you are getting.

I think steam definitely makes a difference on how well the interfacing sticks.  I use tons of it and then iron the front of the fabric.  I think that helps adhere it as well.

I have recently fallen in love with fusible fleece.  Does anyone else use it?  I love how sturdy and thick it makes my bags.

I want to make a bag kind of like this.

I am not sure how I would attach the solid ribbon.  I am thinking I would sew my top and bottom pieces together and then just top-stitch the ribbon on.  Is there a better way to do this?  Thanks.
