I love it!  Do you remember what your dimentions were prior to sewing?
12  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: American Girl Swap! (Signups 9/19/07 - 10/3/07 and sendouts 11/1/07) on: October 02, 2007 12:06:59 PM
I never had a doll but my BFF in elementary school did and it was amazing!  I want to get one for my daughter for Christmas.  I can't fathom spending the regular price on clothes, though, so I will most likely be making all of them anyway.

Now, how about the Bitty Babies?  Does anyone have those?  I am thinking about getting one for my 4yo.  Is it better than a $15 Le Baby doll?

I think I will be getting an AG doll for my 7yo for Christmas, so this is appealing to me.  But I have a few questions.  I have never made clothing before, so how hard is it to make small clothes?  Where do I find patterns?

I think pre-made dough would be fine.  In fact, it's a brilliant idea!

Thank you all for the great feedback!  I'll have to dig for the recipe that I used, but I think the second link posted was pretty close.  I used slivered almonds for the nails and just used the end of a butter knife to make a nail bed at the end of the fingers before they were cooked.  Once cooked, I used red decorators gel to stick the "nail" onto the bed.

I'll make a tut when I get around to making more!

I made these a couple of years ago and just found the picture again.  I took them to a church potluck and they were a HUGE hit!

linen-n-lace:  It looks like a basic Jordy.  Look in the tutes list and you'll find it.  I'd look, but I'm too lazy... Tongue

OP, cute!

Thanks for the awesome tute!  I have been needing something in my purse to keep my business cards from getting crumpled so this is great!
