I absolutely didn't mean to post yet, I wasn't completely finished writing and adding pictures instead of preview I hit post D'oh!.!

as for the sleeves, I pretty much figured it out while splicing 2 tshirts together so it's kind of hard for me to explain....so I made a graph.. Cheesy

the gray material was a hanes mens medium I brought it home from the store and found a hole in it so i threw it in my scrap pile...I guess you could make up your own pattern if you have other fabric in mind besides another existing shirt.....I made a tube shirt and attached the sleeves like this

haha I know it looks silly but let me describe what you're looking at....

the view is as if you were looking down into the black shirt tube the green is the side seam and the gray is the sleeve tube...the front is clearly labeled as such  Tongue
sew the armpit to the top of the tube...I did a longer seam in the front (about 5" from the side seam) than the back (about 3")

I tried to explain it the best I can...I usually to everything by eye with little to no planning and rarely use actual measurements

and please excuse my terrible face in the picture...it was hard to get my boyfriend to behave and take a picture of exactly what I asked him to

I don't have any before pics of it, but it was a long sleeve shirt..I got it last St. Patrick's Day from some guy that makes them....he just gave it to me......I had every intention of cutting it up and I just never got around to it...today was the day..and I am fairly satisfied with the outcome...

back (everbody is irish on st paddy's day)

sides I did in fabric marker (I cleaned and now I can't find my paints  Sad)

the back is longer than the front, I was going to cut it off but I think i love it too much!.!

my hair is always bright red......one of my favorite things is when I hear a little girl whispering to her mom (or dad) "look! just like Ariel"

the sick thing is I know the songs by heart...I had a friend move to florida, it took him months to call and when he did, the first thing he said was "sing me that song I can't get it out of my head"

you did a really great job....I love that the blue canvas works with the picture.....

they were in the blue lag0on  Wink

595  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Sentimental Tote for my Pals 21st on: March 06, 2008 01:21:50 PM
oh my gosh when I saw "Beach Crew" my heart jumped......I've been living in Philly for 2 years but am originally from Connecticut....we had our own Beach Crew...we all chilled on a one way street down the beach and everyone knew where to find everyone just by going there...hanging out through the years people came and went...and when our generation pretty much grew up and grew out of it (and the cops kicked up out) there wasn't anyone to fallow....there might be some kids who think they are but we know who has it in their hearts....

this makes me so happy...makes me think of highsch0ol...I am going to show my oldsk0ol beach friends, if you don't mind =0)
596  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Homemade Tattoo Gun on: March 04, 2008 02:13:28 AM
I just want to say that it isn't a gun...it is a machine...
tattoo machine. never tattoo gun.

Whats the difference?

not knowing what your talking about  Tongue
a professional calls it a machine, because thats what it is.
calling it a gun is like calling someones mother a wh*re, you just don't do it.

I am definitely impressed...knowing and understanding how it works enough to build one? knowing not to ruin yourself but grapefruits and what not, that is a wonderful thing.

I grew up reading every tattoo magazine I could get my hands on...once upon a time I even looked into tattooing but I don't have the patience, I am happy just drawing flash for people. I've been around tattoos most of my life between my dad and my older brothers, and now my own which i planned out for years and took plenty of time to find a reputable shop with artists I trust enough to hand my flesh over to scar me for life...and one thing I have learned is a tattoo machine is just that, a machine. not a gun. except for that one that looks like a gun.

practice practice practice kid. learn every little bit you can. some artists have waiting lists years long and you can have that too someday but you need to be serious if you want people to take you seriously. save your lunch money and buy parts on ebay you can make a real machine for cheap it seems you have the know how. you seem smart, just be safe. knowing is half the battle.

although maybe the one that looks like a gun can be called a gun because it technically is a gun. heh.
