1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: BBC Sherlock Messenger Bag on: July 28, 2014 09:55:50 PM
Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for!  Smiley

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / BBC Sherlock Messenger Bag on: July 14, 2014 02:33:51 PM
I had bought this bag with every intention of adding my own touches to it. I settled on a BBC Sherlock theme. I already had the "221B wallpaper" fabric leftover from lining a hood and I knew I wanted to use it to line my new bag with. I'm not going to lie, I would line everything with this fabric if I could...if I didn't have to sew it all by hand like I did with this bag!  Cheesy

I painted a smaller version of "Mr. Blue Skull" for my partner in a skull themed swap and just couldn't resist painting him a second time. Here, I hand painted him onto a solid white craft bandana, cut him out, ironed him on with hem tape and outlined him with sparkle fabric paint for extra reinforcement.

Below is a link to the original bag. It had two inner dividers but one of them didn't connect to the bottom, so I cut it out. I might replace or pad the strap as well but it will probably take me forever to finally get to it  Tongue
I use the ammo loops to hold my sunglasses.

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Once You Pop Swap - Summer 2014 GALLERY!!! on: July 12, 2014 05:57:28 PM
My partner hasn't posted photos yet and I only took photos of two of the items I made, but here they are:

This is the inside of a shell that I painted freehand and made into a pendant.

...and a pendant that I painted and beaded to act as a sun catcher.

My can from RandiMaehym787 came the other day, here is all the loot!
Reversible American flag headband, Bird Bic lighter, tea wallet, travel tin and of course the can!

Here are the tin and wallet closed with the contents of the travel tin laid out

Love everything! Thanks so much, RandiMaehym787 and thanks for organizing, Ma Rut  Smiley

Finally got some things completed today. One thing I've been planning all along and something I surprised myself with. Both came out pret-ty spectacular, if I do say so. Another thing I've been collecting for needs one more cheap and easy part so I can assemble it (I had one but hadn't thought it through and totally destroyed it). My can has a base coat but I'm not 100% on a design for it yet, but I'm not worried...it's a technique I'm very familiar with and I know whatever I choose I can knock it out of the park. I am confident that I can send on time but I'll keep in touch in case I just jinxed myself.  Tongue

I have a bunch of things collected, I just need to find a free day to construct.

Every year I road trip from Philly back to my home town in CT to watch the fireworks July 3rd on the beach with my friends and family. The fireworks is a reunion of sorts for friends...everyone who used to hang out down at the beach all meet in the same spot and we get rowdy for old time sake and those who are parents now stop by for hugs on the way home from the carnival with the kids (some of our parents even hang out!). The 4th we have a cook in with the family and close friends at my Moms where we hang out in the air conditioning and cook all day and then at night we walk down the street to watch all the fireworks over Long Island Sound.

Also, dating a professional wrestler is certainly going to take me on a few road trips as well  Cheesy
We have a handful of local gigs too, which means there is going to be a steady flow of people we never get to see who we can adventure with, even if it's just a few hours.

Waiting for the weekend for a craft store trip. I need to start carrying the lid around with me so I know what I get is going to fit. It would be better than holding my breath until I get home  Cheesy

Hey, one of the questions on the questionnaire was about travel. Where are you guys going this summer? Just curious...
