1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hanson Purse on: August 10, 2008 07:11:49 PM
I just thought I would show off the Hanson Purse I made.  I made it for my daughter who is a huge Hanson Fan.  I made it from some posters they sent her to advertise an upcoming concert.  I used Iron ON Vinyl that is ironed on to the poster and backed with flannel backed tablecloth vinyl.  I was proud of the way it turned out.  And my daughter loves it.  It is not often that I find something I can make that she will like.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Patchwork Apron on: February 02, 2008 09:48:57 AM
I just wanted to show you my new apron.  I made it from purple quilt squares I got from a chain letter sort of block exchange I did years ago.  You were supposed to get enough to make a lap quilt but  you know how that goes.  So I had enough to make an apron.  I like the way it turned out and I finally found a use for all those purple squares

3  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Simplicity 4638 on: April 04, 2007 04:51:36 PM
I made everything in this pattern and loved it all.  The jacket and skirt are made of a pink cotton chenille that fringes nicely.  I made the pants of a black pique cotton stretch.   The top and dress I made of a sort of semi shear black and white Daisey print with a little bit of pink in it.
The top of the dress and the top have a crossover in the front but it fits well with no gaposes,  which I was worried about with that kind of style.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / my new free fabric on: April 02, 2007 02:49:19 PM
I got some great fabrics for free.  A friend works in a drapery workroom and they get to keep the leftover fabrics they want.  So she let me pick out some for me.
I got some really nice silk dupioni and some linens and some cotton sateen and also some cool trims.

I already made myself an outfit out of some of it I will show a pic when I can figure out how to get more than one pic on a post.

Here is the outfit I made from some of my freebies.  The jacket is made of a cotton organza with vines and flowers embroidered on it.  The skirt is made of silk dupioni that is a brown gold and green iridescent that matches the leaves on the jacket.  I think it will be my Easter outfit.  The pattern I used was NewLook 6609.  I like the jacket especially the skirt is ok.  I also made the purse that is on the pattern  too but I didn't like the way that turned out at all so I threw it away.
5  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Simplicity 4275 Threads Collection on: March 21, 2007 06:15:18 PM
I just finished making Simplicity 4275 and thought I would give a review. This is my first time posting on Craftster also.
I made the long pants and the longer jacket.  I liked the pattern for the most part the fit is good.  The pockets on the jacket were a bit tricky with all the top stiching but they turned out nice in the end.  the pants were very quick and easy.  I will try to post a pic when I figure out how to do it and I have a pic.  I made it out of a dark brown stretch twill.  I plan to make the knit top included in the patern too.
