1  Re: Chocolate Swap Gallery Sendouts- 12/6/10 in The Swap Gallery by eye_on_sparrow on: December 01, 2010 06:22:32 PM
I recieved my lovely package from princesspimp81 yesterday.  I am delighted with everything.  I especially love the adorable chocolate cake box.  And I got a cute cupcake tote bag and a really well crocheted cupcake pot holder.  The pot holder is already displayed in my kitchen.

Inside the crochet chocolate cake box was an asortment of  delicious chocolate.  I already ate the white chocolate bar and a few of the little cookies.

Monkey_girl has been busy and hasn't had time to post picture but I am dying to show what I sent her.  She says she loves everything.  I want to see how the dress fits her.  We had similar measurements so I tried it on before I sent.  This is how the dress looks on me.
the books and some supplies
Some fabrics to make several stuffies in the books

I hope she post pictures soon I feel kind of odd posting my own.  I had three swap partners in a row who never posted pictures even though they said they loved everything.  I know it is easy to forget if you don't have time to do it right away.

I received my wonderful package from China.  Monkey_girl sent me my first Chinese craft book.  I love the projects in this book.  Mostly there are bags projects and a few Christmas projects.  I love making bags and there are many in this book that I am going to try soon.  I can't read Chinese but there are lots of diagrams and not much text anyways so I am sure I will be able to figure it out.

There are two adorable felt ornaments one has a key ring on it and the other a loop.  I may hang these on my Christmas tree.  A small zipper bag decorated with sewing themed buttons and fall leaves buttons.  I got extras of the buttons too.  And two pairs of earrings one with sewing machines and the other with scissors.

She sent me several notions for making a bag.  A cute little hinged purse frame, some appliques of bunnies and cherries, some lovely covered buttons ( I love me some buttons),  I am not sure if the doll is a sticker or an iron on.  I haven't opened the package yet maybe I will be able to tell after I open it.  But isn't she cute.  There are some cute little labels too.  I love everything especially the book.

4  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by eye_on_sparrow on: September 13, 2010 09:23:30 AM
I received my apron from sjconner several days ago but I have just now had a chance to show pictures in the gallery.

I got an adorable apron with a heart shaped bib and cute cupcake fabric skirt.  The skirt is very full.  I love the fabric I actually have some of this fabric in my stash and I made an apron for another swap with it.  But I have never made anything for myself with it.

And then she sent me some extra goodies too.  Some dish scrubbies I can't wait to try these out I think they will work very well.  And I got some wonderful smelling handmade soap.  It feels really soft too.  Everything is great.

This was a really good swap and I got my fabulous package today from Kellilee.  I just love everything.  She crafted me this cute cupcake tote bag.  She used linen thread which has a toned down look to it.  I love the uniqueness of this as most cupcake things are made in bright colors.  This bag is so pretty and well done.  There is a cute little cupcake magnet and I love the bottlecap necklace with a cupcake.  I have been wanting to try this kind of craft for a while as I love the look.  And a knitted cupcake washcloth was inside the bag.  This is really well made too.

I never would have thought I would get a bottle of Chardonnay in a cupcake swap but that is exactly what I recieved.  I can't wait to try this bottle of wine from Cupcake Vinyards.  She also send me a postcard from her town inside the card she sent.  I thought that was such a good idea I may try it in future swaps however I have never seen a postcard of my tiny town.  But I do love getting local things in swap packages.

I got the makings for funfetti cupcakes, candy necklace, bracelet, and ring pop.  A package of Necco wafers and a Unicorn pop

Next up a cupcake cookbook. some herbal soap, a tiny candle, and some cupcake body cream.  I don't know which to try first.

And last but certainly not least three cupcake fat quarters.  I love them all and I have several cupcake fabrics in my stash but I don't have any of these.  They are all so cute I am going to make myself something with them.  Thankyou Kellilee I adore this package.

I hope Danirene doesn't mind me posting some pictures of what I sent her for her Angel package.  The bright blue bag at the back is for holding a roll of toilet paper while traveling.  There is a zipper at the back so you can pull out the paper without having to take it out of the bag.  And the little zipper pouch on the front is for storing hand sanitizer or whatever. Maybe danirene will have some better pictures of it.  I made a patchwork head scarf out of some project I started about 20 years ago.  I don't remember what I was making with it but it was about a 36" square of patchwork.  That was back when I didn't have much of a stash so I sewed up whatever I could get my hands on.  These were samples of drapery fabrics.

I made her 2 sandwich bags lined with recycled potato chip bags.  A sling for her water bottle and a washcloth.

And two Linen tea towels.

I received my package from JodiLynn85 this morning.  Here's everything together, I got 3 shopping bags which I think are made from vintage pillowcases with ribbon handles.  And a sturdy fabric box to corral my fat quarters in. and a utensil roll for my lunch bag.

Call me weird but my favorite part of this package is the chocolate ribbon she used on the utensil roll.  I wish she had sent me some of the chocolate that ribbon came from.  LOL

I sent JodiLynn85 a couple of crocheted dishcloths.  I didn't take pictures of them before I sent but this is like one of them I made for her.

This plastic bag holder is like the one I sent my partner.  I had 2 of them cut out ready to sew for about 8 years so I decided to sew them up.  I sent one to Jodi and I kept one for myself.

She is learning to knit and asked for some more knitting needles so I was able to find some for her at Goodwill.

My partner JodiLynn85 received her package from me today.  Her life is crazy right now so she asked me to post some pictures for her.  I didn't take pictures of everything but I will show what I have.  I was pretty proud of what I made her.

I made her some snap on kitchen towels on a roll.  I used snap tape I found at my local Goodwill.  There is a plastic tube at the base with snap tape on it to go over a regular paper towel roll.

Then I decided I needed to make a wet bag for her to put the snap on towels in until washing.  The strip piecing was done with a project I started probably about 20 years ago from drapery samples.  They were all little samples.  I had may pieces sewn together.  I found them in my closet while I was recently cleaning it out.  I don't know what in the world I was making out of this 20 years ago.  I also used some more of the snap tape for this.

I made her a sewn dishcloth out of the scraps from the towels.  It has nylon netting on the back.  I wrote a tutorial on my blog for the washcloth.  I plan to write one for the towels too.

I sent her some crocheted dishcloths too I had those already made they were just waiting for a home.  I also made a bag to hold plastic grocery bags but for some reason my camera didn't want to save the pictures I took of it.  I also sent a couple of books one from my stash and one from the local Goodwill.

I received my package from fusbdgt the other day so here are all the lovelies she sent me.  First up the sewn items.  An adorable fold top bag.  I love the fabric choice on this.  She made several matching things too.  A needle roll and a zipper tissue holder and my favorite is the tea wallet.  I have been wanting a tea wallet.

The cute fabric she sent there are 2 owl prints.  The pink one is a fat quarter and the blue one is about a yard.  A small piece of the flower print she made my bag out of.  I love the blue and brown fabric too.  I love all the fabric whats not to love.

The notions:  Some black webbing for handles, pink baby ricrac and piping, some really pretty floral ribbon and another with mod flowers.  There are also 2 vintage fabric ribbon hanks a pack of hooks and eyes and some tiny buttons.

I love the book she sent and it is one I don't own already.  I love those zakka style projects.  There are several things in there I want to try.
