11  Spinach and Potatoe Soup in Vegetarian / Vegan by cowgirlz101 on: September 30, 2009 09:02:36 AM
After reading about all the great kale recipes yesterday I decided to make Spinach, Garlic and Potatoe soup. No measuring just threw the ingredients in and kept stirring.
I used frozen spinach, onions, minced garlic(comes in a jar), hash browns, milk, butter, pepper, salt.
First I sauteed the onions and garlic in olive oil, and while that cooked I started some olive oil in another pan and got that nice and hot and added some hashbrowns to it. After the garlic and onion had cooked for a bit I threw in some frozen spinach, and let that soften up and thaw and cook, and then I added some butter to the potatoes because they didn't seem to brown for me...lol~
I combined the potatoes into the spinach mixture that was cooking in a 2-quart saucepan and added some milk. Few mintues later, I added some  more milk so it would have the consistency of soup. Added the pepper, and salt, and stirred it around till it was hot and bubbly and then added some grated parmesan cheese but I think grated Sharp Cheddar would've been good too.
I had one of those sourdough bread bowls and put it in there...but next time I might cube the bread and put it into the bottom of the soup bowl or just a plain bowl. Enjoy!!

16  Card Making At Midnight in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by cowgirlz101 on: July 14, 2009 09:21:59 AM
I couldn't sleep last night, after letting the dog out so I stayed up and made some cards for my sister-in-law who's into making her own cards for Christmas and such. I had wanted to start on my own Christmas list of making stuff for people this year...and I figure the earlier the better. So I made these cards around midnight....and I had a great time doing it!

I came home from work today, and there sitting outside my door, a little on the damp side was my box from wx2dzug who sent me the MOST and AWESOME package possible! It was stuffed to the very brim of it all.....

I just kept taking things out and being very pleasantly surprised! There are sequin patches, and beads, and beading strings, and leather, and material of different sorts, and containers for beads or??, and socks for a sock monkey, and a little shirt *sloppy kisser* and ...takes a breath, ribbon, and 2 rhinestone-y iron on transfers, and embroidery floss, and....it just goes on and on and on~alot like Christmas  Cheesy in January!

Minus the scissors LOL

Didn't she spoil me??? omg......I love everything!!!! And I'm inspired to do more craftiness  Grin

Okay, alot of pix but wx2dzug she did me justice! Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
