1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / corduroy pants to purse on: May 08, 2007 11:22:08 AM
Well, I forgot to take a picture of the pants before I cut legs off, but you can imagine just your regular flared leg cords.  Anyway, here are some shots of the purse I made....I absolutely love it.  I totally made up the pattern, so it has a couple small issues with lining up perfectly, but no one can tell unless they look really well.  There are buttons in the center of the flowers on the front, just for some added detail, but not on the back because I figured they would get caught on my pants as I walked, etc.  Anyway, it was a fun little project that came out pretty well, since I had no idea what I was going to do with it when I started.  Thanks for looking, hope you like it!!! Smiley

OK.  For some reason the pictures aren't appearing...which is weird because I have done this a bunch of times and never had this problem.  Anyway, here are the links to my photos instead.  Hope this works.  Sorry!

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Cover for a boppy pillow... on: March 23, 2007 10:32:01 AM
I found this pattern online for free, and thought I would give it a try.  I used the super soft fabric (not sure what it is called) that is very popular for baby stuff right now.  I chose green since I had a little boy.  Hope you like it!

Here is the link to my photo album...click on the pic for an enlarged image.  http://picasaweb.google.com/carter3682/MySewingProjects

Here is the link to the website that has the pattern I used...http://economicalbaby.blogspot.com/2006/05/diy-slipcover-for-boppy.html

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby Boy Quilt on: March 23, 2007 10:25:11 AM

I made this quilt just before my son was born in Feb.  I just love it and wanted to share!  The pattern is called Illinois Road, and it was given to me by a friend.  I will post more detailed pictures soon.

5  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / McCalls M5133 - Little Girl Skirts on: March 23, 2007 08:12:38 AM
Here is the skirt I made from this pattern.  The pattern was very well done, and I had no problems with following it.  Since this was my first pattern project ever, I would say that is a good thing!  I made skirt D (out of A through E)...though I am sure the others are just as easy (I plan on making them in the future.)  Enjoy!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Toddler Skirt - my first pattern project! on: March 23, 2007 08:08:02 AM
Well, this is my first project post.  Undecided  I have never used a pattern to make anything before and here was my first project...a skirt for my 2 year old daughter.  I got the pattern at the Hancock .99 pattern sale and the fabric was on clearance for 1.77/yd (only needed one yard)  Waist elastic was reused from something else, and ribbon was stuff I already had.  Not bad for $2.76 eh?    Plus, the pattern came with 6 other skirt ideas, so who knows what the future holds!   Smiley  Just wanted to share!

Pattern was McCall's M5133.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / UPDATE: "help needed: boy's christening outfit" FINALLY FINISHED! on: March 22, 2007 08:46:00 AM
"I am wondering if anyone has ideas for a boy's christening outfit, or perhaps a pattern or tutorial on how to make one.  We are strapped financially, and to buy one is at least $50.  Any advice, tips, etc. on what I can do to get/make a cheap one would be very helpful!
Thanks!"
