1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2011 DeStash-Along on: December 30, 2010 02:29:29 PM
i'm in on this for 2011. My yarn stah is manageable, but my fabric stash is well.... out of control. I have two large plastic containers full and a mega heap of fabric piled up in my wardrobe. My local fabric shop closed down earlier this year so most of my stash is sale fabric from there closing sale.

my goals for this year:
finish trilo cardigan (i started this in about april 2010 and the yarn im using for this is the oldest yarn in my stash)
finish quilt (started january 2010)
make some bags to sell out of my  multitude of scraps*
sell off the sewing patterns which i will not use*

I am also going to try and create an access database, containing info on my patterns, findings and fabric so i can track my stash and keep it manageable in future (i have no idea if i have the technical ability to do this yet!)

* - money from this will go into my serger fund

i love that fabric, i wish we got cool halloween fabric around these parts, it does look a lot like a loungefly bag, i imagine yours is better made though!

I think they will be worn with some very girly tops, to tone down the dark manly fabric

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Look 6943 skirt on: March 13, 2010 08:30:43 AM
this is the first project finished today, super easy pattern, (really you dont need a pattern for this sort of skirt its only different sized rectangles) very cute fabric which i bought recently from a fabric shop which is closing down, the first pic is over exposed so i have also included a close up snap of the fabric.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / scrappy camo shorts on: March 13, 2010 08:22:22 AM
Yay today I finished two projects, this was the second one, but I've been avoiding finished them because i didnt want to put the zipper in (dont know what i was worried about, it was reasonable easy, I'm not going to win any prizes for neatness but its functional) as usual (in my experience) burda magazine pattern instructions were severely lacking, so I gave up using them about halfway throughand just made it up. Fabric is a tiny little camo print remnant ive had for about ten years (yay for destashing!) because there was so little fabric I used black cotton for the pocket lining and waistband. My favorite thing about these shorts is the button.
