11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: "Put Your Life In Me" Bag/ or just a plain grocery bag! on: May 10, 2007 02:06:13 AM
Aw thank you!  Grin

may i ask what kind of material you used?

I don't know exactly what the fabric is, seems to be thick cotton. It's actually off-cuts from Ikea upholstery that came in as waste where I used to work. There was so much I had to leave most of it behind!

Hello  Grin

I decided to make a bag I could put my whole life in (if needs be!) so I made it  Cheesy

The bag itself is just an ordinary tote which was easy to make and the wording and pic is embroidered on.
Anyway, here it is...

15  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Quilt-a-long! on: April 19, 2007 03:06:35 AM
I hope you guys don't mind if I jump in here?

I started my new quilt a week or so ago and it's going to take me about 3 months to complete! So I need all the encouragement I can get!

It's a personal story quilt of all the major things that have happened since me and my husband first met. Each block (20 altogether) will be appliqued, then I'll have to put borders on them, sew them all together, border the whole thing, put backing and wadding on and then quilt it!

I've made two quilts before but this one is going to be hard work - especially as I can't afford to buy new fabric, just have to use what I've got!

Anyway, thanks  Grin

Oh wow, that's is beautiful!
I love the material so much, I don't think you need to embellish it at all - it's fabulous as is  Grin

Your quilt is so stunning and it looks so professional. It is so sad that she didn't appreciate your hardwork.
