11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Ukulele on: April 17, 2013 06:37:19 AM
Ok, this project has been more than six weeks in the making.  It is made entirely from scatch, no kit.  The back, sides and headstock are walnut. the front is silk spruce, the neck and bridge are mahogany, the fretboard is purpleheart, and the nut and saddle are ebony.  All of the splines on the inside are pine.

It has nine coats of shellac on it.

Anyway, here is my latest project, a ukulele.

12  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / tyvek on: February 24, 2013 01:02:11 PM
Any ideas for tyvek feed bags?  You know, the kind that 50 pounds of dog food come in.

I've seen tote bags, but there's got to be more than that for this awesome resource.
13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ivory piano key earrings and pendant with earrings on: March 29, 2012 08:16:21 PM
I'm still working with the ivory piano keys.  I decided to try to carve a pair of earrings to match the seahorse pendant.

Then I decided to do a pendant and earring set of moons.

The earrings are 3/8 inch wide and 3/4 inch long.  The pendant is 3/4 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long.

Worked with a dremel and a very tiny bit.
Hope you like them.

I made this ornament, using a glass float and some crochet thread.  The glass hanger was broken off, so I made a new one.  It's just macrame knots.
