1  Re: One Small Hobbit Thing Swap (Send-out May 21) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by hoboe on: May 15, 2012 06:25:13 AM
I should be mailing out Wednesday!  Everything is right on schedule, finishing up part one today, and hopefully part two will be done as well, but I can also finish that up tomorrow if necessary.

2  Re: Monster Pouch Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by hoboe on: March 27, 2012 06:24:01 AM
A monster in a box was waiting for me at home yesterday.  Hubbie and roomies gathered round to see what was in it.  And here it is:

An inter-dimensional puffer fish!

Oh my, what is that in his mouth?

Close up of mini pin cushion (already put to use).

Just the extras (minus the candy, it had to be stuck in the refrigerator ASAP due to Texas sun)

IDPF couch with the crystal ball he will be holding for me inside of it.  For some reason I thought the ball was 3" but it is really 2 1/4" but it works well once the ball is inside IDPF.

Now he's cranky at me because I tried to put on his couch.

Hrm...I think I just got mooned.

Side view - I'm in love with his eyes.

And one final shot, face front!  This guy will always win the stare down!

Thank you very much Suereal!  I adore the monster and he definitely gets me in the right mood for meditation - smiling and happy.

3  Re: Monster Pouch Swap, send out by 3/20 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by hoboe on: March 20, 2012 06:56:09 AM
I'm mailing out today, as soon as I can go to lunch.  Here's a teaser shot for you Suereal!

Yay! for intentionally blurry not true to color shots!

I'm hoping it gets to where it's going!  Last time I shipped to Canada it took 1 1/2 weeks to get to it's destination.

I got weird looks from coworkers and a "oh that's so cute....what is it?"  I wasn't going for cute, but I guess bright fabrics elicit that response.

And here's my wonderful package I received from thebakersgirl!

Ripped open the outer packaging to reveal.....more packaging!!!

Then I very impatiently ripped open the big one; a beautifully painted tote bag!

But that's not all.  I opened the unmarked envelope to find these:

Aren't they beautiful?  Will be framed and put on a wall ASAP!

Then on to the districts, in order.  My camera did not do them justice.  The different textures and colors are much better in person.

1, 2 and 3:

4, 5 and 6:

The 4 is a brighter hue of blues than the picture shows.  I really need to get a better camera Sad

7, 8 and 9:

The 8 has much brighter polka dots, and it feels like the squares were woven!  The 9 is made of rice!  How cool is that?

10, 11 and 12:

For once, the color is almost the same.  At least the 12 shows the really pretty graduation of color.

And the final envelope, which said to open last:

Very pretty hand-crafted card.

Thank you so much for such a great package bakersgirl!  Thank you again for being so patient with me as well!

Kochopia sent me a marvelous package.  So marvelous, that the gentleman inside couldn't wait to get out!  I present...Colonel Dapper!

Mandatory back view:

Awesome mustache! (where he gets his name):

And the reasons he was so impatient to be let out:
Top - bottom, Left - right:
Dog zombies, Alien Zombie, Mutated Zombie, Runner/Infected, Walker/Shambler and Radioactive Zombie!!!  got them all!

Back of cards:

Them all together:

I have a plan for them...they are going in the dining room, as soon as I can find or make a frame awesome enough to hold them.  Colonel Dapper will be traveling with me, and the Airship I'm part of.  Thank you Kochopia for such an awesome package!

My box of goodies arrived today from Casstasstrophe!  I was so excited I ripped right in...then got the camera.  So first off:  Poorly repacked box:

Lovely papcercuts of the Lannister and Stark crests:

I am totally going to have those mounted and in my dining room ASAP.

And a beautiful necklace.  This is the best picture I could get (I suck at photographing jewelry).  It says "Winter is Coming" with little snow flakes.  Fits perfectly at the base of my neck.

I had asked if she was ok with receiving two items and she replied with she'd make two as well.  I enjoyed having Casstasstrophe as a partner and hope she gets as much joy from the package arriving at her place as much as I got from what she sent me!

10  Out with the red, in with the Gold! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by hoboe on: June 20, 2011 11:48:03 AM
After finishing the girls room http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=380576.0 we decided to attack the dining room.  I loved the red when we first moved in, but after we received new furniture from my in-laws, it felt like a cave.  Especially when there were people in it, which happens more often now.  It definitely needed to be lighter, a new arrangement on the furniture and a new floor!  On to the pics:

The left side of the dining room (Before Shot):

The right side of the dining room (Before Shot):

After shots!

Central view:

View from the foyer:

The entrance from the foyer:

The finches in their niche.  We left it brown, because it is not part of the main dining area.  it's a little nook that has the second entrance to the walk in pantry and the master bedroom door is visible on the right.  The big white block is the swinging kitchen door.  It's nice to be able to shut off the kitchen and still be able to run in and out with out having to bother with handles Cheesy

I don't have a pic of the left wall because it is unfinished.  I haven't decided what to hang there yet.  Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions are welcome!
