1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Images/Ideas needed to Help Local Animal Shelter make some money on: July 18, 2007 09:07:49 AM
Hi everyone,

I recently started volunterring at a local cat shelter, Angels with Paws, who do not euthanize, and are extremely under-funded.  I have been trying to find a way to make more money for them, and have decided to put together a cafepress site for them.

What I need is cute sayings or quotes related to animals.  I also need copyright free images that I can put on greeting cards and calanders and stuff.  SO any suggestions would be awesome!  Thank you!

So ever since I have become obsessed with making jewelry (about 4 months ago) I have been keeping an eye out for something I can make for Mom.  Her taste is completely different than mine, and she only wears gold....so I found this stone and said to myself "Oh it's just perfect Dahling!"  and this is what I came up with....  Tell me what you think

Sorry about the fuzziness, damn phone cameras

So I have been working with epoxy resin to make bottlecap jewelry for quite some time now, but let me tell you, casting in molds is so freaking different!  Here are a couple from my first batch that actually turned out worthy enough to share.  Over 1/2 of my vatch didn't cure completey..ARGH!  I am thinking it's because The mix had started to settle by the time I poured the last half....stir and stir some more I guess LOL!  Well here they are anfd please excuse the horrible camera phone pics!

So this one is kind of a recon, but not really.  I got the big silver piece from a really ugly necklace at the 99 cents store and used my beads and stuff to make it into this beauty.  Tell me what you think!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My very firstest messenger bag! on: April 12, 2007 07:33:00 PM
SO this is my very first ever messenger bag, and only my third sewing project!  HA HA!!!  I do think it turned out rather well though, especially considering I didn't use a pattern.  The one question I have is when and where do you sew on the straps?

Here is the bag sitting all alone

Here is a close up of the pockets

Here is an action shot of it closed

And another with it open

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Trying to find a type of bracelet "blank", Please help! on: March 26, 2007 10:05:08 PM
Hi everyone,

I stumbled across this Etsy shop:

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5013916

And was just amazed at her work!!  I have become obsessivley inspired.  I already work with resin, but have never seen 3D work like this.  I have looked all over the internet and cannot find anything like the type of bracelet or rings she uses to fill with her art.  I am afraid to offend her by telling her I am going to try and replicate her work.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!
