761  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Share your Mess...Then let's clean it up! on: March 11, 2007 10:16:30 PM
I have to become a part of this!  Grin I'm not in school right now (LONG story behind that) and I have a few days where I can go insane and do a huge overhaul of my bedroom.  My bedroom is not only my bedroom, but my creative room, my craft room, and my chilling out space.  Right now my major project is to move my old changing table OUT of my room (my dad custom made a changing table for my mom when I was born and used it for 3 kids!) and replace it with a shelving unit I got from the estate of a dear family friend.  That and I need to organize my closet, my desk, underneath my bed, and my dresser!  Which will become the new storage/display area for some of my craft supplies.  I also plan to pimp out my room with some cool electronics (like a cd player/fm radio and a tv w/DVD player) and a rad beanbag.  I can't post before pics (my brother has my camera for March Break grrr) but I will post after pics!  I'm planning to get started on my project today!  Wish me loads of luck!  I'm planning to go for a run to get my adrenaline running so I can motor through alot of it!

i'm curious. how big is your biggest star?  Wink

I have no clue!  Tongue The paper I used to make it was about 2 cm wide I think, and about 15 cm long?Huh  I made it a long time ago and never bothered to measure it!

I found that one also when I was searching, but I couldn't make head or tails of it!  They put the steps in a different order then how I fold them, and I've found that if you do some more prefolding, then the turtle turns out alot better. Smiley

do you live by a Toys R Us?  Because I work at one, and I know that we sell extra lite brite pegs and other designs!  The one i've been eyeing is a My Little Pony set with the design paper and the pegs. Cheesy

you must have lots of patience!
do you have a tut or link to make the paper turtle??

I did a search for a pre-made tutorial on how to fold a turtle, but I haven't found anything viable.  The ones i've found are either A) completely words with no pictures (and I couldn't make head or tails of it) or B) ridiculously complicated.  I found that with more folding, i've found that prefolding alot of the steps will result in a much more clean and streamlined turtle.  So right now i'm working on a picture tutorial for how to fold them.

I second the request for a turtle tut.  I know stars and cranes.  On the wrapping paper stars what size did you cut the strips?  I've no idea the length by width ratio.

thruthfully, I had no idea how long/wide that strip was!  It was left over from when I was wrapping a birthday present.  So rather then throw it out, I decided to make a star.
