Okay so I found this awesome dress at Goodwill for $7! I wanted to wear it to a wedding I had to attend and I new what shoes I wanted to wear which were red so I decided I needed red accessories! So I made my own I made a flower for my hair, a necklace and earrings. The necklace was originally yellow so I spray painted it red. The earrings are just beads on head pins attached to fish hook earrings loops. It was all very easy and I think came out well! Here are the pics of the accessories!
There's more info on my blog linzcrafts.blogspot.com -shows the shoes and the dress, I wanted to add them on here but deleted the photos
Ok so here goes nothing! I tried to draw up a quick tut for you It's not the greatest, hard to explain with drawings but I hope it helps. I might try to run to some thrift stores this weekend and find some more pillowcases and then try to make another better tut. I also took some more pics of the closure, hope that explains it a bit better.
YAY!!!!! I made some skirts, the first one I'll show is my absolute FAVORITE thing I've made so far (as far as clothing goes) it turned out EXACTLY how I wanted and I CAN NOT wait to wear it! Yay for warm sunny weather! It's made from two pillow cases that I got from Goodwill for FREE they were having a buy one purple tag get one purple tag item free, yay! Onto the wonderful pics:
Now this is a jean skirt made from a pair of old jeans. The first thing I tried didn't work out so well so I call this my frankenstein skirt because it was pretty randomly put together and just happened to work
Thanks for looking
TUTORIAL!!!! If you have any questions please ask! This is only my second Tut and my first clothing Tut plus it's a drawn one which is a bit more difficult. When I find the right pillowcases to make another I'll do a step by step Tut but here's this one for now
I cut the paper wrong for the inside cover on this one so the birdies are sideways, whoops!
This one I ran out of cardboard for the covers so I used some scrap corrugated cardboard, it almost has a padded feel to it, it's a bit bulkier than the others, I'm not sure that I like the corrugated cardboard, almost a bit flimsy too.
And this one there was some permanent marker writing on the cardboard that you could see through the fabric that I didn't notice until I had already put the fabric on so to remedy that I applied a second layer of fabric.
Okay so I love my iPad The dock is awesome but for watching movies while I'm working at my desk I wanted to be able to stand it up landscape. My DH bought a case for his that came with this bendy plastic thing for that purpose but I plan on making my own case instead of spending $30 on one so I came up with this! It's a photo stand I painted it blue because that's my fav color and matches my craft space. Lined where the iPad would rest with felt to prevent scratches and I glued part of a rubber glove on the bottom for stability. I used a rubber glove because that's all I had but I plan on buying little rubber feet/stoppers to put on the bottom later.
UPDATE! NEW PICS! I did add rubber stoppers to the bottom finally
I am super excited about these! I love making them! The Red and the Yellow ones I sent to my Mom's for Mother's day (MIL and DM) and the other two will be sent to my pen pal and her oldest daughter. I can't wait to make more! Planning on making more for Xmas gifts. Onto the pics!
I had an old pair of sunglasses that faded in the sun and my current fav pair (the ones in the photos) got scratched i my purse so I decided I need to make something to protect them. The outside is from a thrift store sweater that I bought to make into a cardigan but didn't work out, and my fav part the inside is microfiber so you can use it to clean the glasses. Onto the pics!
