The mask weights about 6oz. so it needs a good way of fastening it to the head. For myself I just glued on a piece of fabric from an old t-shirt, using my own head to measure. I can't really use this method on an item I might send to someone across the country who I can't measure. Plus slipping my head up through the bottom is tight and tricky and still felt a little loose.
I plan to line the inside of the mask with felt too, but here is the strap I have on my own mask, the 'prototype', if you will. The fabric is hot-glued on and it feels like it makes a pretty good bond and it hasn't peeled. That's a legitimate way of attaching it, right?

I thought about attaching a piece of fabric on each side that will velcro together in the back. That would make it easier to put on, and make it more one-size-fits-all. Would the fuzzy side be wider so that the hook side can be placed along it for different sizes? Does velcro have a pretty good grip for something that weights 6oz.?
