Here is the duct tape I used to make the pattern (I couldn't bring myself to be mean enough to show him wearing it!):

Here is the paper pattern:

Here is the inside lining, with the seams pressed open:

Here is the outside:

I took pics of half of it, though the other half is done...
Debzy-- I've done all this by hand! The sewing machine has not materialized yet... But I'm having a blast!

You gave me ideas! So, instead of reading "The Tempest" like a good little college girl should, I made this:

It is of the card variety (dirty on one side, clean on the other). I took a clothes pin, painted it red, and hot-glued a magnet on the back. The images came from www.explodingdog.com and are about 3 inches square. (The clean one reads "It's good clean fun for good clean children") I glued them to a square of thin cardboard (one on each side), then sprayed them with clear spray paint. Oh. and I printed a tiny 1 inch image, sprayed it, and glued it on the clothes pin so the magnet wouldn't show. I'm quite proud of my procrastinated afternoon... Now I have to read "The Tempest."

Great post, great how-to... The only thing is, in the pic, you have your finger in the direct path of the cutter! BAD BAD BAD BAD IDEA. Causes many cuts and sometimes many stitches. You can make a "stand" thing to hold your stamp, and save your hands. Let me whip up a drawing for instructions....

Okay, this is made from a square of plywood (any size you want, 9 inch square is good). On the front, nail two pieces of 1 inch X 1 inch "craft wood" into a 90 degree V shape. On the back, nail another piece of "craft wood." You sit it on a table, with the craft wood hooked over the edge to hold it in place. The V shaped wood pieces on the front hold the material you are carving. ALWAYS CUT AWAY FROM YOURSELF. I speak from experience!

14  sushi magnets! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by thixle on: November 04, 2003 02:19:05 PM
These are the same as my "cat toys," but smaller, and ummm... with magnets!  The egg roll is about 2 inches long.  Visit http://www.geocities.com/thixle/main.html for patterns and instructions.  Tell your friends!
