the background is basically finger painting.... so not very hard to accomplish.
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / anybody like curry? on: March 10, 2007 09:24:54 AM
me and my sister LOVE curry and i think i've come up with the perfect recipe for it......

1 can coconut milk
red or green curry paste (to taste)
dash of fish sauce
pinch of salt

thats the basic sauce, and you can add any veggies you want to it.
last night we had broccoli, bok choy, onion and red pepper curry. we also made coconut rice, but it doesn't really matter whether you have coconut rice cuz there's coconut in the curry sauce. i also really like potato in my curry, but i tend not to eat potato curry with rice because the starch seems to be a little overwhelming.
5  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / vegetarian burger on: March 09, 2007 02:40:59 PM
alright so i had this breakthrough at about 5:30 in the morning today, and i thought about a really yummy vegetarian burger.

now i'm really not about the whole meat substitute thing, like bacon flovored this and hickory smoked that.. if your a vegetarian, then you don't eat meat, or meat flavored anything. if you crave it.. then just eat meat for goodness sake!

anyway... i was thinking some really spicy guacamole on one side of the bun, and a roasted red pepper puree on the other side, and a thick slice of onion put on the bbq for a while, until it gets little black lines on it.... but then instead of your regular burger bun, why not put it inbetween two slices of foccacia bread? perhaps packed with olives, potato and artichoke hearts?

i'm not even a vegetarian or a vegan, but my sister is, and i'm pregnant and really going hard on the whole nesting thing. i bake and cook everyday. cookies, pies, cakes. and i make her crazy stir fries and vegetarian meals because she's the only vegetarian in our family of six, so i make her feel special every once in a while.

tonight it's thai curry stir fry with two kinds of marinated tofu: cilantro lime, and spicy sesame. she's very excited
