1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / freakin AWESOME mom purse! on: April 06, 2007 11:58:31 AM
So this is my SECOND attempt at a purse/bag. (fifth sewing project overall) It is for my mom...she even picked out the fabric and notions for it. (too much pink for me) It turned out way better than my first one. I did not use a pattern....I had the amazing realization that I should use fuseable interfacing to make the bag stiffer so it will keep its shape better. Let me know what you think!

The straps look a little long because my "model" is very short  Smiley

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / tin foil/ nail polish pendants [image heavy] on: April 03, 2007 01:47:09 AM
I made these out of tin foil and old nail polish that was just lying around unused. The foil pieces are between these soft plastic scrap booking bubbles that I had. Once the plastic pieces were on either side, I used a heated safety pin to poke through both layers and added a 7mm silver ring that I had for making earrings. I put a photo on either side so you could turn it around and have a different picture. Sorry about the photo quality. Thanks for looking!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / bag with colonial print on: April 03, 2007 01:24:10 AM
This is my first bag and its pretty simple. I love the fabric because it reminds me of pictures that Ive seen of colonial women. I didnt use a pattern. If you have any questions or suggestions let me know!

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / revamped hawaiian top on: April 02, 2007 11:39:59 PM
I forgot to take a before picture of the top, but it was a long tunic with this fabric with a net fabric for the bodice. I used the printed fabric that was on the bottom of the top to make the bodice and added a lace fabric for the straps and top edge. I didnt use a pattern. This is the first top Ive made. Thanks for looking!

(hawaiian top with a sunburn...how perfect!)
