1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 73 ENTRIES / Spoon holder recycled from a plastic insert that held 2 coffee cups. on: April 08, 2012 11:58:58 AM
This plastic insert was in a box holding 2 coffee cups in place.  I hung on to it and thought........I am always using paper towel for spoons when I'm serving.  This would make a great spoon holder.  I love the outdoors and thought it would be neat if it had a look of pools of water.  It is washable and looks nice in my kitchen.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Dragon/Phoenix completed and painted kit. on: April 02, 2012 01:57:18 PM
I found this kit a few months ago and posted it when I got it assembled, had not completed the painting.  Here it is and it hanging in the northeast corner of my living room for good luck.  (According to the legend..that is where you hang it.)  Goes with my oriental living room motif.   Smiley
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Wall hanging wood craft project from craft store on: March 11, 2012 08:09:17 AM
This looked like a fun winter project and certainly turned out to be a challenging one.  Instructions simply said match numbers.  There were 5 boards with pieces.  Not marked in any way.  All had to have edges sanded.  I saved the boards they came from, thank goodness.  Marked all the pieces.  The only guide you had was picture and it was an uncompleted pic of the item. I thought it would look nice in my Oriental themed living room.  I did have fun assembling it with a lot of whining and growling, one broken piece, alot of gluing and dah duh, finally looks neat!  I researched the story behind the dragon and phoenix and pearl.  Found the color combo I liked and now in progress.
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 71 ENTRIES / My Beaded Necklace Project :) on: February 02, 2012 11:28:59 AM

This was so much fun making. Started out making my own beads.  All the beads are handmade, except the small black and brown ones. I enjoy Nature and incorporated it into my design with the tiny bird.  It is strung on ribbon so it can be positioned on your neck, long or short.  I laid out the design in my mind, figured out the amount of actual finished beads I would have and laid it to paper and here it is!  The long cylinder beads are upcycled from window clings that no longer stick to glass.  Great fun project for winter.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plastic bottle recycled to make jewelry on: September 05, 2011 08:06:50 AM
First attempt at this project, but more in the works.  This is soooooooo. Easy to do. You simply cut out the bottom bottle, hack saw is the easiest. Then shape the bottom into the shape you want, remembering it will curl and shrink.  Then put in a craft oven 200 degrees but watch closely (don't leave it).  Or use an embossing heat tool. (Also use carefully and know it will shrink quickly)  Try not to get too close to item.  You'll have to practice.  Then after item cools you can add beads etc. or decorate however you like. Have fun!  Working on making beads next.  Smiley
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Nature inspired brooch from recycled material on: September 03, 2011 12:22:30 PM
Used the bottom of a plastic bottle. Cut it off, shaped with scissors, melted slightly and adorned with beads and added a clasp to the back.  Fun and recycled!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Decorated Octegon Tin for sick friend :) on: February 27, 2008 05:58:59 AM
Good Mornin Crafter friends and family,  Recently visited a friend who was having surgery and she mentioned loving Hawaiian sunset photos.  I thought it would be nice to give her a good luck, get well gift and here it is.  Had fun with just cardstock, rope ribbon and decorated top, bottom and inside top and bottom with native flora and fauna of Hawaii.  Elevated the flower on the lid and overlayed the palm branches and albatross flying on the lid to give a 3 dimension look.  Still learning how to do posting so hope this comes out ok:
