1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Baby Groot. Yes, yes, I made one too :) on: September 07, 2014 10:05:35 AM

Hi, seems like every geek is making a baby Groot, this is my version.
My english is bad, sorry.
Not really a tutorial about how I made it.

I used 2 parts epoxy putty, plastic mini leaves, pieces of wire, bitumen and mineral solvent, moss, mini vase, super glue.

- For the base, I made a skinny and long cone, let it dry slightly and give it a little twist. Put a piece of wire to hold the little head. I made some marks on the trunk.

- I made the little arms and put wire to fix the little arms. Use super glue to secure in the position I wanted and started doing the vines with twisted rolls of dough. Put a little piece of wire to make the neck.

- I did the face, with some shallow marks, cut the lips and pressed a pen to make the eyes. Then I made mini twisted cones and started to add through the head toward the edges. I mounted the head using the piece of wire and super glue.

- Once dry, I painted the piece with wax bitumen diluted with mineral spirits and put sprigs of plastic glued here and there. Now, just put in a mini vase, giving the finish with dry moss.

I hope you are capable of understand my english, please excuse the errors.

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Tardis Card Tutorial - Bigger on the inside on: November 24, 2011 07:55:56 PM
This is my TARDIS card and it is "bigger on the inside" Wink

I used the "hidden message" technique in this card.

To make this card you will need:
1 piece of paper: 21cm x 28cm;
2 pieces of paper: 21cm x 6,9cm;
scissors, ruler, pencil, crayon and black pen.

1- Take the first piece of paper (28 x 21 cm) and fold it down the middle.
Unfold and fold again with the sides folding in towards the center.
Unfold again. Your paper will have four 7cm divisions.

2- Fold the paper again in the center.
With a pencil, make 3 marks in the middle ( 5.25 cm - 10.5 cm - 10.75cm).
3- Refer to picture and cut on the marks shown.
Open the paper and the paper will be cut, like in the picture

4- Take the 2 strips (21cm x 6.9 cm) that were cut.
Insert the strips "into" the first piece of paper, weaving in and out of the cuts.

5- Decorate or paint your card (5 sides Wink) and it is done! Now, write a beautiful message and send the TARDIS to someone special Smiley

Thank you and please excuse my bad english, Pat
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Thaumatrope on: September 23, 2011 12:16:58 PM
Hi, want to do a thaumatrope? It is really easy and i did it with pre teens.
You can see how it work here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWxa2eJ_Izw

1. Take a simple image, group with a circle or square and save.

2. Copy to paint (or other graphic software), erase part of the image and save. Repeat, erasing the other part. Save.

3. Make a line and align the images. Rotate one 180 graus (sorry, cant put the symbol)

4. Print, cut and use the line for guide to glue. Paint, make holes and put ribbon or string.

5. You`re done. Make more Smiley

You can incorporate it in yours cards and scrap pages. To see a gift I made wit it, go to http://gentedemassinha.blogspot.com/2011/09/como-fazer-um-taumatropio.html
