13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Stop sign table -more pics added ;) on: September 17, 2008 04:23:50 PM
I've been wanting to make one of these for years and I finally got to! When I saw this table I knew I had found a perfect match for my stop sign.

Before:

The stop sign is about 2 and a half ft wide.

After:

I covered the sign with a layer of clear contact paper so it's nicer to work/eat on.

Not to sound snarky but I don't understand why you call this "your" idea.
In the article it says that you got the idea from a picture of one that was already made by someone else. The picture was of a hooked rug made of plastic on the person's website. So it wasn't something that you invented. If anything you should be linking to her/his site because that is where the idea is from, instead you of telling people to link to your article so they dont take credit for "your" idea. In addition people have been making these for decades in 3rd world countries. So really its wrong to say that you invented this. And even if you didn't know that people have been making these for decades I still don't understand how you think it's your invention when you saw somebody else with one first which is where you got the idea to make it in the first place.

Quote from the article:
"But, it was a photo of a rug hooked with plastic bags that snagged her interest. The designer talked about the durability of the rug; all she had to do was hose it of or shake it clean," she says. "I thought the hooked rug was attractive and was suddenly struck by how many plastic bags I was storing in the house. I felt an immediate impulse to make one, even though I've never hooked a rug before."

Hi,
My name is Astrea and I love beer.  Cool

It glows in the dark. But I can't really get a good picture of the glow action with my dingy camera.
