1  Please!!! Help removing something from a top? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by SuprStarDrgQueen on: March 10, 2010 05:48:59 AM
Hey ladies and gents Cheesy

Im a long-time lurker and procrastinator but recently Ive been getting my crap together and doing more recons and smaller pieces. Ive just gone thru my stash and found a top I was given 5 years ago that I need to sort out.

I love the style of it but the main issue is this kinda tacky print on the front. Im guessing its just an iron-on transfer but I have NO clue how to remove it!?

And if it cant be removed safely without ruining the top, what else can I do to cover it? Its a very big area to cover which worries me.

I really don't wanna screw this up so, fellow Craftsters , I NEED YOU!!

3  Re: costume idea help needed *decided but still need help* in Halloween Costumes by SuprStarDrgQueen on: October 06, 2007 11:46:10 PM
Wear your most childish Pajamas, hair in pigtails/braids/ringlets, wear slippers etc...

For makeup..

Apply your foundation and powder.

Apply LOTS of pink blush just on the apples of your cheeks. Add a few brown freckles.

For the eyes, line your top and bottom lids with blue eyeliner, or wet your make up brush and use blue eyeshadow to make it pop!
Try and get some big fake eyelashes. The spider ones are best. They are normal length lashes but theres 5/10 lashes then you get one really long one.

If u cant get them then use LOTS of mascara for the wide eye effect Smiley

Pink lipstick.

4  Re: Pirate in Halloween Costumes by SuprStarDrgQueen on: October 06, 2007 11:18:39 PM
If I was being a pirate I personally would do:

Corset + lightweight white slightly sheer shirt/blouse.
Shread skirt. VERY easy to make.
Funky/girlie eyepatch.
Big hat with a HUGE colourful feather on, or handmade big bow to match the colour scheme.
A necklace with a large locket on.
Big boots of course.
I personally love over the knee stripy socks Smiley

OMG I made my first tute. If its unclear please tell me Smiley

*To make the shread skirt*

*Get a length of wide ribbon and make sure it goes round your waist twice with about 6inches extra. ie if your a 30inch waist your ribbon needs to be 66inches long

*Take bits of other ribbon, ripped lengths of fabrics, bits of nettin etc and pin to one side of the ribbon.any length/thickness is fine. Only attach them below the halfway point, and leave 3inches either end of the ribbon empty

*once you have covered the ribbon, fold it over at the halfway point so that the top part of the ribbon covers the top of the lengths of fabric. Sew it down.

Now u have a skirt. Just wrap it round u, theres should be lots of coverage as its going round your waist twice, and tie the end bits of ribbon together on your waist/at the front/back... If you used alot of sheer material or theres isnt much coverage, PLEASE wear hotpants/shorts, or at least some VERY nice underwear!!

Oooo thought a pic might be helpful. Its a crappy PaintShop one though Sad Sorry

Hey all,
I found Nina's tutorial last year sometime, saved it, then only just found out who it belonged too in the first place (I was a lurker back then)

I decided to make my friends some stuffies for their birthdays, and these are the ones I made Cheesy

a HUGE thankyou to Nina for sparking off my sewing frenzy after way too long not doing it!

and a Hello Kitty from the same basic idea
