22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: What Do You Really Hate Making? on: July 11, 2005 04:10:32 PM
OOOOOHHH My God I hate seam ripping! I hate making handles for my bags, but you HAVE to do them you know. Also when a couple of my friends decide to drive me crazy by asking for the SAME handbag design. ALL THREE OF THEM. Don't you want this bag with the flower elsewhere? Or a different color? NOOO, I WANT IT THE SAME AS HER.

tsk tsk hehe

Okay, I've made a few pouches now, BUT... You know how in some y'alls lovely pouches it seems as if you've top-stitched right by the zipper (liek when you do with regular bags)?

WHen in the tutorial do you do this? I'm assuming it's not after the whole pouch is done. Please some one help me!

UPDATE: OHHH I get it! You topstitch when all four pieces are attached to the zipper.

Man, this solves ALL of the problems I've been having when finally assembling the pouch. Sheesh. Thanks anyways!

God I love super yellow-orange. It's my new favorite color! ANd that wallet is so cool!

Okay good, youre the right person to ask. That clear plastic you used, what kind is it? I bought some of it, but i can't seem to sew with it, It gets stuck in the needle . Even if I sew it as to have the plastic touching the feet below. Do you have any tips?Huh?

Quite frankly, I prefer using mag snaps instead of zippers for my bags. A lovely lining fabric like that should be seen by the rest of the world! And that's how I do my pockets, not fancy but it works. When you do get to work up the courage to use zippers, try one of the zipper pocket tutorials. Actuaqlly, theyre not that difficult!

Good job on the bag! Smiley

I'm not a big fan of simple bags (my life is simple and boring enough, I need some COMPLEXITY!!) but these are actually VERY nice! And rather pleasing to the eyes, you're good at combining fabrics. Plus they look professional Smiley

Also, good job in choosing appropriate backgrounds in the pictures, especially the last grey one, it kinda heightens the color and calm harmony of the grey.

Or something like that Tongue
