I have been working on this project for a couple weeks now and am very excited about the results. :-) Obviously this is still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share what I've done thus far. (Excuse the wrinkles...) - I plan to mount and frame it for my brother (27 years old) because it is his fav movie!! hehe



I took a few coloring book pages and traced parts onto fabric. I may add a breadfly and the white rabbit depending on how long this takes and now how long my poor arm takes to heal. I've given myself tendinitis working on this thing. So my wrist gets a little break and then I will hopefully finish it soon.

So, my boyfriend, myself and a bunch of friends are going to go recreationally tubing down the salt river in July.

It just so happens that the weekend we are going is "Halloween in July" and boyfriend and I think this sounds like a blast.

Being the craftster that I am, I would like to make absolutely wonderful costumes. They would need to be water safe and all that jazz.

And Ideas, tips, anything?

Every bit of information will be helpful and appreciated.
We both have swim suits, but I wouldn't be against making new ones or adding things to existing ones?

I have been teaching myself how to knit slowly. So far only the knit stitch and and the purl stitch and very very very basic straight items.

My boyfriend always calls it crocheting and I always correct him and tell him crocheting has one needle and it has a hook. And he always says something about how no guy would know the difference.

I left a scarf I am working on sitting on the coffee table and my 8 year old cousin came in and said "who knits."

And I laughed and said see boyfriend, some guys know the difference and my little cousin looked at boyfriend and said "DUH! Knitting needles look way different than crochet!"

haha. I thought you might enjoy that as much as me!

Ok so last night I was going through my closet and pulled out 14 items that I will wear with some work. My first target was the "hot dress" i used to wear clubbing when I was crazy and VERY VERY thin and into risky outfits.

I didn't put the dress on because it is VERY short and very not cute on my slightly older less thin body. (Trust me, you are happy I didn't put it on)

So I chopped the top off, changed the side seam a little, shortened the zipper (which I read how to do on craftster at some point) and made a sexy professional skirt.

I have been wanting to try different stitches and learn more, so I grabbed a napkin drew a little design and got to stitching. It is nothing spectacular, but I feel like it was much better than my last attempt.

This was my first attempt at needlework. This was supposed to be all cross-stich (per the package I bought) but I altered the stitches the way I thought would look nice.

What do you think? I have a lot to work on and learn, but I think he is cute.
