21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Unflattering Purple stretchy sweater, What can I do with it? on: November 06, 2009 02:57:22 PM
I have a unflattering stretchy sweater, any ideas of what I could do with it?  I got it for a gift a few Christmas' ago, I don't want to get rid of it.  It doesn't suit my body the way it is.

Any ideas welcome, THANKS!
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My dining room decorating/7pictures. on: January 15, 2009 11:25:32 AM
This is my table that I painted white, along with the chairs...I re-upholstered them.

Not the Greatest Picture, sorry.
This is the freehand painting I did, got the idea off of the internet somewhere on google

My litte mirrors on there were my idea.  They are mirrors from hooks that I got at the dollar store.  I just unscrewed the hooks and put them on the wall with tacks....

This is the light cover I made out of plastic cups, drilled holes in them with my dremel tool. Strung them together with fishline.  I got the idea from the post on craftster. The Plastic Sparkle Light Ball Tutorial.......

...Which i tried to do and I decided that I was going to make a cover for an exsisting light.

Any comments and questions welcome.  Thanks for looking.
23  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Jewlery Storage on: December 17, 2008 09:15:11 PM
This is a jewlery storage item I thought of making last week, out of an old wooden dollarstore picture frame, some old window screen that we had no window that it would fit.  I am giving it away for a birthday gift for my mother inlaw, minus the jewlery, because it is mine, only for picture purposes lol.  Her son and I got her some brand new jewlery to put on it, but I don't have a picture.  I made some of the jewlery in my pictures here.  I got the idea either off of the net a long time ago, or tv.  Sorry I cannot remember.  So here it is.

I drilled some holes with my dremel tool, that I have barely used.  Finally got some use out of it.  I had this little handles from a bag full of cross stitching hoops I had bought a few years ago.  So I used them for the top to attach the chain to and to put on the bottom for necklaces to hang from.

I hot glued some odds and ends of buttons and beads and such on two of the opposite corners for a personal touch.

Hope you like.  Comments welcome, questions welcome.  I will try to answer them as soon as I can.=0)  Thanks for looking.
24  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New to me Chandelier with artificial tealights. on: October 09, 2008 03:58:42 PM
This chandelier was very ugly wood and black......I saw it on the curb across the road, so I said i'm going to make that nice.  I picked it up and had it sitting around for a few months and finally got around to painting it.  I removed all the wires and the bulbs and the bulb holder part.  I just painted a few coats with acrylic craft paint.  I wanted it too look a little old fashioned, so I took the edge of my scissors and scrapped the paint off on all of the ridges and angles.  I plan to put it up in the bedroom whenever I can get my other half to help me with it.  So here it is.

Thanks for looking.
25  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Just a little Halloween decor. on: October 09, 2008 03:48:56 PM
Here are a few things I did to decorate this year so far.  I made the spider web by crocheting and attaching yarn strands, it was a little tricky not getting it tangled up, we will see next year what shape it's in haha.  I just got some gumballs that looked like eyeballs and put them in a glass, i have two of those, I thought it was a neat creepy idea. I will try to answer any questions.  Thanks for looking.

26  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Haunted Halloween House with light up windows on: October 09, 2008 03:44:25 PM
Here I made this house out of re-used cardboard from cereal boxes, corrigated cardboard, tissue paper, mod podge, or you can you use white glue with a bit of water added, paint and tape.  I glued little bobble eyes around to make it look like strange creatures in the night, where the windows are I put yellow tissue paper.  I have artificial tealight candles inside, so in a dark room, it looks quite spooky.  Made the tombstones and trees out of cereal box type stuff and painted them, same with the fence.  The pumpkin I got at a dollarstore, it lights up and flickers aswell.

Any Questions I will try to answer them the best i can.  Thanks for looking.
27  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Potion Bottles. on: September 24, 2008 08:38:04 PM
Craftster User Nyte Rayn inspired me to make this, here is the post that Nyte Rayn posted. Thank you Nyte Rayn.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=267807.0

Made from recycled bottles and jars, food colouring, sparkles, beads, old cloth, ribbon and twine, I put some water and some vinegar in the hopes that the water won't go all gross by halloween.
I got the labels here.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC102668451033.aspx?pid=CT101467571033

Here is a picture of the sparkles and beads although it doesn't show too well, but you get the idea.
I used a green recycled hawaiian lai for something that looks like the tentacles of a swamp monster or something.
I got the names for the potions off of the net, I would like to give credit to the person who had them, but I cannot find their page now.  I just searched for potion names I think.

I put my printed page in a glass dish with some hot brewed dark tea and then let it soak until it looked brown.  I then dried it with a hair dryer, when it was dry I crumpled it up.  I used mod podge, you could just use white glue and a bit of water i'm sure it would work the same.  I also painted a coat of the mod podge over the containers for a cloudy look of glass.
For the Unicorn potion I added some white plastic ribbon shreaded thinly to look like hair added sparkles and jewled beads.
Comments welcome, thanks for looking. Cheesy
28  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Inspiration boards on: September 08, 2008 10:47:35 AM
I made these inspiration boards from old magazines, pieces of glass mirror, sequins and sparkles.  I just cut out things that I liked from old magazines that might inspire me to make something related to one of the items on the board. They are somewhat like collages.   Something to help get my brain going when it comes to making crafts or sewing when I am stuck for ideas. I am in the process of making more of these boards until i use up most of my old magazines.

Sorry the flash messed this one up a bit.

30  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Mobile and picture frame set. on: May 27, 2008 12:14:59 PM
This is a mobile I made for a friends baby girl to be born in July.
I got the idea off of the net somewhere on google. I used an old coat hanger and some pliers.  Used pink ribbon for bows and to hang the mobile.  I used scrapbook paper for the circles, each circle has two pieces of paper glued together.  I threaded beads underneath each circle and tied knots to separate each circle.

Here are some picture frames I bought and have never used from the dollarstore.  Just added some ribbon on the bottom.  The paper inside is scrapbook paper the thicker stuff, also from the dollarstore, same paper I used for the mobile.

Feel free to leave comments, I will try to answer any questions if you have them, I hope she will like these gifts, I can't afford to buy much, I wondering if they look too cheap?
