1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Kitchen Table on: December 05, 2004 12:35:49 PM
I posted this in my blog a trillion years ago and people kept asking me if I had posted it on Craftster yet.  I needed a new kitchen table badly (I have a gorgeous old one that belonged to my grandparents that was too small for my family, so I refinished it and use it as my craft desk) but couldn't find the size I need (wide enough that my kids can't kick each other and long enough to work on crafts at one end and still have room to eat dinner at the other).  Finally gave up and built my own for under 50 bucks.  Premade legs,  Big piece of wood routed along the side (Home Depot will do this for you).....stain and a trillion coats of poly.

People ask me about the funky hutch in the picture too...it is a junk furniture store find (the hutch and base didn't actually belong together).  Base coat of cream, and then I did a peeling paint red top coat over it to match my red Ikea table chairs!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded Art Doll on: November 26, 2004 08:16:38 PM
Made this for a friend...this is the front:

All bead embroidery.  Some nut and bolt stitch...I made the face out of polymer clay.
3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Beaded Sneakers -- A Spring In My Step on: October 29, 2004 07:02:52 PM
I usually post these in my blog, but my mom reads my blog and they are her Christmas present so I'm sharing them here!

I'm going to have more in depth directions for them in the Spring issue of "Creating!" ( which is a zine on CD...you can see more about it at aisling.net...it isn't my zine so I don't know when the issue is coming out yet)  but for now, its a basic nut and bold bead embrodiery stitch for the beads around the sides, and the cabs and leaves were just glued on.
There is alot you can do with the idea, these are pretty basic and worthy of my odd-ball 55 year old mum.
