I think it would be awesome to have a craft fair in Houston, just came back to Houston in January, was considering going to the Last Concert Cafe to sell my jewelry, they allow local crafters to come in and sell their stuff there, no charge. Might be a place to set up a craft fair.......check them out at lastconcertcafe.com......i think........duh i been beadin and loomin it today just woke up from a nap due to medication....heh.....gotta love them docs......peace, hugs and love ya'll
That is my plan......just trying to get them up there to see how they looked. Believe it or not i sell more of the macrame than anything else, could be cause is real hemp.....could be cause is better made i not know......but is what is selling now.....strange huh? I would have thought the beaded would go first lol.... I got fooled. I pay 20 bucks for a kilo of hemp..takes me bout 30 mins to construct the macrame then i sell for 15 for a necklace some as high as 30 depending on what is in them and labor....not too bad a price for the hemp. Glad you were able to see it. Back to beading....today is beaded jewelry creation day....heh...tomorrow is school, wed is hemp then thursday school, and then have one big paper due then other days will be split tween the two....
I went into myspace and checked account, not sure but think perhaps you have to have a page there to be able to see photos. I had a lot on there, and will have to figure out how to get them on here. I will probably just pull this message until I can figure out something else.
If the moderator wishes she can pull all these. I am having issues with the pictures. All I wanted was opinions on the jewelry really, if it was good enough, if anyone liked it, so I am guessing this is not where it should be. I thank you for your assistance and removal of this message. I am about 6 months to a year from having a site to sell stuff....so..... a bit early for here. thank you again
Hrm........i will check on them.......but when you get to the myspace page, you click on view pics.......and the album is titled "jewelry making insanity striking now". they should pop up when you go there. *mutters grumbles, mutters......silly myspace puter ......lol I will get back to you on this on this.
I have been busily tying knots, stringing and playing with shiney things. I am considering starting to sell online, so need input on how the pictures look, if they are good enough, dont' have too much glare.....you know all that stuff that drives a gurl crazy lol. The board I put them on is a regular bulletin board covered with black burlap. Each picture is labeled, some items I did close ups of. I posted them on my MySpace to make it easy for all: This is my address, just copy and paste. I also listed the name of the album. I thank everyone for your advice, criticisms, and ideas. I have been told that I should go for the dream, I have many fears on this step, but..... well.....gotta start sometime.
I have moved to Salisbury, NC. Currently I stay pretty broke, but I do have my beads. I am interested in starting a craft co-op for people who craft to sell what they create, share their knowledge, and just get together to visit. I have an appointment to meet a gentleman on the 8th of july to find out what all would be entailed. I think it would be a neat adventure, but I am scared to death because I am unsure of how to get it going, what all it would entail and I still have about 2.5 years of school to get my BA. If anyone has any clues, I would love to hear them and share ideas. Salisbury does'nt have any craft stores or any place for that....perhaps I should uproot and move towards asheville......sounds like lots of folks there have crafty minds and fingers. I need to figure out a way to start something to make some cash....I hate being broke. I also think could share ideas with youth, and give an outlet to share our own frustrations. Looking forward to meeting all of ya'll sometime soon. Will keep you posted on what I learn about starting such an adventure.
hrm.....brain is working.......what color/or metal were the charms? If there was a way you could "distress" them so they looked antique, or brought up from the deep?? Or perhaps half wrap them in either seed beads or a bit of wire? I still say it is gorgeous. I think I will have to try that type of work. I am still fighting with my multiple strand thingies trying to cram them in cone ends. GRRRR grumble growl growl. So many beads so little time.
Suzanne cooper has some awesome quotes and poems as well as lists like toddler rules but has to do with beads.....her link is: http://www.suzannecooper.com However, I am not responsible once you get there.....she also does stained glass and other odd items on on there. HAVE FUN AND BEWARE!!!!!!
