Here is my Pointy Kitty that I made for a friend's birthday.  The fabric has cute retro dotty stars on it, and I love it.  I do have a few questions if anyone's willing to help me out - 1. If you've made one before, did you sew the eyes on first, or did you get stuck knotting the thread in the back of the head as I did?  Also, for blanket stitching around the points, is there a trick that I'm unaware of?  I would just get to the point, and then put the needle in, and out a millimeter later to go in the other direction.  Does that make sense?  Maybe you can tell what I'm talking about on the photos.  I'm definitely going to make this pattern again.  Hopefully, I'll stuff the legs a little better next time!  Thanks for looking!

Is "Hoedown" one word?...Anyways, here's my version of the whirl away dress.  I know you've all probably seen a lot of these, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to put mine out there as well!  For some reason, I just HAD to have bandana material the first time I saw this pattern, and I think it came out looking fun.  If you've been considering making this dress, I would say to definitely do it.  It was a real easy project - no zippers, or button holes!!!!!!!! (*tears of joy*)  The only thing I would caution you about this pattern is that the shoulder seams DEFINITELY need to be super reinforced since they're basically supporting 8 yards of fabric weight.  
So, leave me comments on whether or not you like it, whether the bandana print is too hokey or not, etc.  Thanks for looking!  

P.S. - Sorry for the dressform modeling for me - I've had a baby since sewing it and hoping it will fit again soon!

And I think he turned out well!  Let me know what you think.  I didn't make eyes cause I didn't want any choking hazard issues.  I know I could have just embroidered them, but I thought of that too late - after he was all stuffed and sealed.  I think he's nevertheless cool.  I used Vogue V7760 to make him and scraps of fleece.  He was one of the quickest projects I've ever sewn(an hour), and so will probably be tempted to make more stuffed animals soon!  I already have polka dotted fleece to make an elephant with!    Comments and/or suggestions are ALWAYS welcome.  Sorry about the link instead of photo in post - I'm somewhat new to posting here even though I've been watching everyone else craft here for around a year!

Hey All!  I'm not sure if putting this post in the "completed projects" counts as cheating cause it's not yet lined!  I HATE lining things.  Either way, the knitting is done, and it's looking pretty cute.  This is the first time I've done intarsia/fair isle...I'm not sure the difference between the two, or which I used.  I think it came out pretty cool though.  I'm planning on using red gingham to line it, and will hopefully get to do so sometime soon.  The purse was made from a pattern in Knitscene's spring 2007 issue.  I used lamb's pride worsted two strands held together throughout.  Please let me know what you think - good and bad is fine.  Here's a link to the photo.
