11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My first completed projects on: June 20, 2007 08:36:25 AM
Those look really really nice. And the scarf looks like it's really warm - I love the yarn things at the bottom, I don't remember the word.

Great!

They all look so professional for your first FOs, great job. I like the beanies, the stripe around the bottom is a nice touch. Congrats on learning how to crochet in the round already as well!

Thank you! I have to thank my argentinian cousin (yes, a boy!) for being very patient with me and teaching me how to crochet in the round when I visited him. I was a slow learner, but I managed. He's pretty close to the ideal man: young, handsome, and knits and crochets!

Well- looking at the board and all the crazy things craftsters are crocheting I feel a bit embarrased posting these simple things.
I hope to become as good as you guys one day!

First thing I ever crocheted: A scarf. I love the colour of this yarn...I got it in Argentina. (=yarn heaven, I wish I had brought more; but I'm asking my family there to bring some over at christmas!) The red and yellow yarn is also from there.

Beanies, that's what I call 'em:

This one turned out odd, something between half a beanie and a beret. Also, this red is so intense in real life.

What I call an odd shape, yes.

So I had to study for my oral Dutch exam and got so sick of it that I was thinking of the craziest ways to escape studying...so I crocheted two beanies, made a couple of earrings and taught myself (well some surfing around and then I just stenciled away!) how to stencil.

Thank you craftster. I love you. You make exams the sparkiest crafty period of the year!

So, I didn't have any ideas of what to stencil, but I was talking to my Argentinian cousin on gtalk so I decided to go for Eva Pern (Evita). My uncle owns the restaurant next to the Evitamuseum in Buenos Aires. Lovely food, lovely place. (Just so you know)

*FEELS THE NEED TO MAKE AN ARGENTINA SHIRT*

I found an image I liked and made a stencil out of it in word.
printed on carstock, cut out, placed on random male white shirt I bought (you know, the things they wear under their clothes, I don't know the english word for it) and put fabric paint all over my stencil.
So it's not perfect, but that doesn't matter as it is a shirt to sleep in.

up next:
MY ALL TIME HERO: PATRICK MCGOOHAN. aka Number Six aka The Prisoner. I hope you all know him, cause man, The Prisoner must be the best series ever made in human history.

Just my opinion.

I think I'll have to stencil something like:
-Number Six
-I helped Patrick Mcgoohan escape
-Patrick McGoohan
underneath the image, what do you think?

I wore it to my french exam today. I hope that some the Prisoner fan notices it and comes talk to me, so I can marry him/her. They're a rare breed in Belgium, so I'll take any gender, age or appearance.

by the way, I'm not big on ironing Cheesy

Would you have to make a new topic in the Stenciling: Challenge Entries board? I'm a bit confused by thread-topic-board vocabulary and all that jazz. Now if someone would post their entry it would be easier to know what to do for me ...  Wink (Yes indeed, I'm a bit of a loser)

Well now- stencil away my lovely strangers.

Oh, I live in Belgium, and I actually got my hands on this set about three or four years ago. - Really: it was the prettiest thing ever.
the growing things are some sort of crystals, if I remember well.

God - I really went all crazy watching it grow back then Cheesy
