1  sunflowers! in Shoes: Completed Projects by tooty booty on: April 05, 2008 01:35:27 PM
I am going to participate in the "light me up" challenge next month and I already finished. I had some leftover sunflowers from what I was doing so I decided to add them to a pair of shoes.

somewhat in action:

I know they are a little silly, but not to me. I call them my mother nature shoes. =)

2  Birthday present! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by tooty booty on: October 08, 2007 02:23:12 PM
Hey everyone! My sisters birthday was this past weekend and I made her a purse and a wallet.

What do you think?

She liked them both a lot but I am a little disappointed with the wallet. Anyway she lives four hours from me but I drove to see her. She wants to learn how to sew and so I am teaching her! yay =)

Thank you for looking!

From the maker of:

I am now posting my most recent wallet. I don't have a really good camera and the pictures came out lowsy, but here they are!

The outside:

Halfway open:

Laying flat:

The yellow floral pocket is divided in two sections. One for coupons and one for money. I have a flap that comes over both of them however I have not yet attached the snap that will go where my finger is:

Actual size:

I quilted the little change compartment.

What do you think?

6  First Clothing Post for me! (8pics) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by tooty booty on: June 11, 2007 04:22:35 PM
Hello! I am Christina. This is my first clothing post and I have a few things to share. My mannequin has an adjustable bust so if you see something under the shirts, it's just the tie to loosen or tighten the boob area. The first is a neon pink and white striped tank.

Front:

I bought the fabric at Wal-mart for 1$ a yard! Oh, how I miss those bargains.

Back:

And a close up of the skulls:

This shirt is made of a one way stretchy polyester. This fabric is from Hancock. I did not use a pattern for either shirt.

Front:

Back:

The style of that shirt is very plain but the fabric is quite busy =)

I made this batik shirred dress a while ago and am not that crazy about it. I was embarassed to post it alone because it doesn't look like much on the mannequin. But here she is:

The back looks just like the front, except with a seam.

And here is an apron that I made for work:

I forgot to take a picture of the other side but it is lined with red gingham, and the front has three pockets. Scissors, phone, snack. =)

Tell me what you think! Thank you craftsters and have a lovely night.

7  Photo Tote-o in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by tooty booty on: June 10, 2007 09:38:17 PM
Hello beautiful craftsters. I made this little bag a few months ago also and the front has a picture of my boyfriend and I that is probably about two years old. I used photofabric for our faces:

The front:

It is wrinkly from being squished in my trunk. Photofabric is okay to iron so not to worry.

The back:

I forgot to take a picture of the inside but it is just orange and it's cotton. All of these fabrics were purchased at JoAnns.

To get a jist of it's size, compare it to my average size head:

What do you think?

That is all for now =)
Sorry that I NEVER have action shots but it's just so hard to take those yourself.

Keep crafting fabric lovers.

8  Patriotic Tote (7pics) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by tooty booty on: June 10, 2007 09:30:54 PM
Hi Guys =)
Before this tote existed and It was only a thought in my head, my plan was for it to be more nautical. However! I think it is more patriotic. Which is okay, because I am in America every single day.

Lowsy picture galore!!!
Here it is:

The front part is a pocket:

And here a very nosy close up of the inside of the anchor pocket:

hello coins.

It is lined with red baroque satin and some junk that was left inside:

Here is the back:

And the little zipper pocket:

And a better view of the straps:

I bought pre-made straps and just sewed two rows of trim onto them to make them more original.

Anyway, any comments are appreciated A LOT =)

Also I'd like to share with you that I discovered there are two fabric outlets within 30 minutes of my house. I have not gone yet but will let you know how it is!

10  skull tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by tooty booty on: June 10, 2007 07:55:18 AM
Hello again! I made this tote months ago, probably before I knew about craftster. It is made from 100% cotton and the handles are pre-made bty straps covered in gingham and a bandana.

You can't really tell but there is a zipper pocket on the front

Here it is with the zipper opened:

This is the back:

And this is the inside:

This bag just won't die. I have used it a lot and crammed so much in there. From my experience I would have to say it's very durable.

I didn't think to post this bag until I saw a great bag made by a fellow craftster out of the same fabric, and then I felt the need to share with you the many faces of the same material =)

ANYWAY, what do you think?

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
I'm going to the flea market, hopefully to find large tablecloths that can be used for dresses!
