1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Need some help, please!! on: February 02, 2010 04:48:50 PM
I just bought a Brother SE-350 a few months ago (first sewing machine!!) and my friend's dog chewed the cord to the foot control pedal completely apart. I looked around and I can't find anyone who will sell JUST the pedal.
Does anyone have any information where I can find a new one?
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Silent Hill Nurse on: October 25, 2009 04:56:46 PM
After racking my brain for a Halloween costume idea, I decided to go away from my normal cutesy/fun costume and do something creepy for once. I finally narrowed my choices down to a Silent Hill nurse. The costume dress was a XL nurse scrub that I got from goodwill (took it in and tea-dyed it), some white tights, white heels, and self-stick gauze. I was going to make an actual mask, but procrastinated to I didn't have time, so I did gauze instead. I do not recommended that to anyone, though, because it really squished my nose and was a little hard to breath. I only wore it long enough for pictures and for the costume contest.

I got first place at the costume contest (First time I won anything! yay!)

A couple of lighter pics for detail:

The gauze shifted and was coming off on this pic:
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt on: August 31, 2009 10:40:23 PM
Now, this is my first real sewing project on my own. I made a purse for my sister a few years ago, but my mom helped me a lot on that one. I was pretty much flying blind on this, even though it was so easy.

I finally bought myself a sewing machine this week and I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so I thought my first project should be making my TMNT tshirt fit me to wear on vacation. It was an XL that I found at goodwill originally. I took the sleeves off and made them into arm warmers (no pics of those) and this is the shirt.

Yeah You'll have to click the links. I don't have enough posts yet due to my habit to lurk instead of posting lol.

4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Getting a Sewing Machine on: February 15, 2009 07:56:42 PM
So I'm saving up for a sewing machine, but the real problem is I really don't know what I'm looking for. My mom had a Singer while I was growing up, so I was leaning more towards that, but I'm open to suggestions.
I don't really want something really super fancy. I mean, anything is better then sewing by hand at the moment lol.  My husband would like it to be able to hook up to the computer so I can download embroidery pattens, if that is even possible. (He said he saw some that could do it, but I haven't seen any myself. Then again I really haven't been looking for that feature so I could of overlooked it.)

So I guess what I am asking for is just suggestions. I don't want to go out and buy a machine only to find out I got a crappy one and have it break down on me or something. As far as price, I really don't know the range sewing machines go for but as long as it's reasonable I'll consider it.

Any help would be wonderful  Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Soda tab bracelet on: November 20, 2007 05:49:45 PM
I've been lurking around for a while reading posts and I finally made someone I feel is worthy enough to show.

Ya'll are probably sick of these aren't you. I have seen a lot of threads on them, but I still think they are cool =D

I have been making the soda tab bracelets for a while, and recently had a friend save his for me, since all he drinks are energy drink. energy drink = colored tabs, right? Well the majority of the tabs he gave me were Monster tabs, which don't have the second hole, so I have been wondering how to use them. And this is what I came up with.

(sorry for having links, as this is my first post so I can't post actual pictures Cheesy )
