Doing it with my fingers usually results in a MESS!  I've tried using my round nose pliers to pull the wrapping wire tightly around but that just gets awkward.

Anyone who's got a stellar technique please heeeeelp!  Because of this problem I just scratched one of my beautiful swarovski pearls and I'm bummed because it's the only one I have in that size.
