She is gorgeous! I wish I had the confidence AND patience to try a poppet...

They look great! I've just bought myself a Barbie (I claim it's because I need "someone" to model my daughter's barbie clothes Wink ) and will try some of your patterns out - I think the dress in your photostream will be first! Smiley

This is SO cute! I had to run over and download the tute myself... I might need a spring bag, right? Wink

It's awesome! I think I've seen some fleece fabric like that around here... My hubby's niece is expecting in august; could be a nice thing for later in the autumn Smiley
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Barbie doll clothes on: March 19, 2009 11:13:44 AM
So, my daughter wanted some new clothes for her Barbies - and who am I to deny her that?  Roll Eyes It's not like I LIKE making teeny weeny stuff with fabric or anything...  Grin

Anyhow, first off a winter (bath)robe out of white fleece with pink ricrac - all handsewn, as I couldn't figure out how to do such tiny curved lines on my sewing machine...

A knitted vest, my own invention

and finally, a first-time dress, a nightie, and a top with the music skirt (gotta love that fabric!)

I've made the dress a few more times after this one, with some changes to fit better (it doesn't show, but the bustier is a bit too big for the new Barbie bodies - it actually fit the older ones better).

So, what do you think? Not that bad for someone who's shyed away from sewing machines before, is it?

It looks awesome! I never would have though of using the flap as a secret pocket - great idea! <3

Looks good! I'm on a "Barbie clothes-high" myself; so far, I've made up a bathrobe, a knitted vest, a top and a skirt (with gathers under the waist band, so no tricky patternmaking involved Wink )

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Mermaid Tail for Barbie on: January 11, 2009 05:38:11 AM
This is awesome! Do you have any hints, tips or tricks you would like to share?

My daughter has an Ariel doll with a mermaid tail (duh...), but it's falling apart... I was planning to copy it, but I'm far better at knitting than sewing... Wink

That is absolutely fantastic!
I've just finished handsewing a bathrobe/winter coat for my daughter's Barbie, I can't imagine the work it would be to do this one! Love it!

This is awesome! <3
I wish my handbag-making skills were up to that standard, then I'd never have to buy another bag in all of my life!
