aww shucks. i haven't been on here since i posted this and i took a break from studying for my calculus test to read so many kind comments!! thanks guys, you have no idea how much i needed a pick-me-up today.
it's funny that you all mentioned the plaid because i honestly bought the fabric just because i liked it, not even thinking of the implications of using it...i guess i had beginner's luck because i wasn't even paying that close of attention to the plaid when i was cutting the pieces out.
when i was sewing though it hit me that i should at least try to line the plaids up. i think because it's such a small (tartan?) plaid it kinda worked itself out.
the structure of the shirt and the pattern itself were both kinda confusing, so far i've just made a half dozen bags from tutorials...so it was all very new to me. thanks again for all of your encouraging words...it makes me want to go tackle another shirt...maybe after my math final.
