This room is gorgeous but I am loving her floor!  What is that? How was it done?

Those are absolutely gorgeous!  I am humbled by your mad skillz.  I especially like the one with the bird skull. So original.

In the last piece, is that your hair that is pink, or is it a feature of the hat?  It's such a neat effect.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making Your Own Corset? on: June 28, 2009 10:20:30 PM
I recently recieved some industrial strength cable ties/zip ties from a friend.  They are 3 ft long and 3/8" wide each.  I've heard that they make good boning material when cut and filed, but I'm not real sure how they'll hold up under pressure--I'm a big girl, both in bust and waist.  I've made a few corsets before in several styles, so I' familiar with construction, but do any of you have experience with this type of boning?  Any comments on strength/suitability or tips for this type of boning would be appreciated.

This is beautiful, and I really love the blue unbuilt combination in particular.  Did you use any extra strength layers with the boning? It does look sturdy, but I'm a big girl and am always a nervous nelly when it comes to fabric strength.

I love japanese fabrics but can hardly ever seem to get any in.  Where do you get your lovely prints?

I know!  This was a walmart dollar table special, but I just thought it was the cutest fabric ever.

My babies are definately spoiled.  I have a super pet ferret cage, and after measurements, I made the hammocks 10"x11" to fit the cage corners.  The corner hammocks are just the rectangular one cut in half, with a pocket on top. They're about 1/3 the length of the cage by 2/3 the depth, so they're a nice size all in all.

Ok, so I'm in an animal behavior class right now.  We're doing a post-natal development series of labs with rats.  After we're done with that, the rats will be free to a good home, so of course I planned to adopt one. Which quickly became two, maybe three.  Then I got a big cage for cheap so it became planning for 4 rats *le sigh*.  So, also of course, I went waaay over board making cute rat bedding for the as-yet-unpopulated cage.  Since I'm planning on female rats (my lab rat is female, and I'm definately getting her), I wanted something pink and came across the cutest fabric EVER.  Without any further babbling, the pics.

the full hammock- flannel pattern, fleece

Corner hammock

Please ignore my country tablecloth.  In a couple weeks when I actually *get* my rats, I'll update with action shots.  I was just too excited about it to wait to post.

That's really nice.  Oh lord, the last thing I need is another hobby but I think I just have to try this now.

That is so pretty! I love the colors.  I've been wanting to do bra-making but I had a bra a few years back with a center seam that itched like crazy and haven't worn another one that wasn't molded cup since.  How comfortable is the one you made?

Those are absolutely adorable. I especially love the anchor, since it's a little but hidden on the side of your wrist in the picture, it's like a little surprise!  Great job.
