1  Ariel's blue dress in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by ShimmeringFae on: February 21, 2009 02:33:44 AM
I'm going to be making Ariel's (The Little Mermaid) blue dress but I really don't know what sort of fabrics to use. I want it to look realistic.
I'm also wondering about the construction of the dress, should I make the dress and then have the black bodice a separate piece that goes over it? Or should it be three different pieces?
Here's an image of the dress:

Any help would be so much appreciated.

2  Urban Outfitters: Urban Renewal in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ShimmeringFae on: June 23, 2008 10:39:54 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but it was way too good to not share with the rest of you craftsters!
In Urban Outfitters "Urban Renewal" section on their site, they have all these clothes and when you click on one it has 3 views of the item and a little doodle of what they made it from! Like this:

I think it's great for ideas!
I hope you all like. Here's the link to the section:

5  Re: Please post your best costume... in Halloween Costumes by ShimmeringFae on: September 02, 2007 04:15:09 PM
I guess I'll be ne of the first posts for this year.  Grin
First we have my dead princess costume from 2003. I just took a Glinda dress and tore it up, put some fake blood on it.

I'll skip two years to this last year, 2006. My boyfriend was a pirate/pacwar guy and I was a devil. Not a great pic, sorry.

Then back a year, 2005, I was Delirium from the Sandman comics. This is my fave. A few referance pics: http://pah2.golding.id.au/images/Delirium.gif, http://www.parasite666.com/Mybox/parasite-Delirium.jpg, http://images.quizilla.com/L/Lorac/1034605804_esdelirium.jpg

If you have any ideas on what I should be this year, please send me a messege!

6  four vinyl banners in What the heck can I do with THIS? by ShimmeringFae on: August 10, 2007 06:20:08 PM
So I have four very plain yet huge vinyl banners. The background is white with blue lettering, they also have the reinforced rings at the corners. There's nothing interesting about the banners at all, they're similar to this one:

Any ideas on what to do with them? I'm thinking a bag but I dont know what style. Any ideas are appreciated.
