1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help me! Circ knitting AAHHHH! on: October 21, 2007 05:52:59 PM
Someone please help!!!  This is already the neverending sweater- and now I'm stalled by my shitty knitting on DPNs.  The sweater is knit top down in the round with no seams (love it) but ever since I picked up stitches for the sleeves to knit on DPN I am hating it.

Here's my pretty, even stitches on Options circ needle

Here's the wonky stitches on Bamboo DPN

I decided to switch to metal DPN because I knit tight and blamed the Bamboo.  The stitches evened out a little but it is still laddering.

and also- a different spot

Yes I pulled the stitches as tight as possible before and after the join and I keep switching where the join is.  It is still obvoiusly loose with slight stretch on those areas.  Do you think it will even out when I block it? (yarn is Plymouth Encore something- part wool, mostly acrylic).

I have knit on DPN before (totally successful Fetching Mitts) I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  Maybe because the needles are big (US# 10) Huh What the hell- I'm so frustrated!!!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit Coffee Sleeve on: September 04, 2007 08:01:44 PM
I made this coffee cozy as part of a Mother's Day gift for my mom this spring.  She is a Starbucks fiend so it was kind of a joke to make something to keep her numerous Venti Lattes extra hot like she likes them!!

I forgot all about making this until I saw the sweater SlickMariaVic is making on this thread

Thanks for looking!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / The sweater on Stephanie Japel on: September 02, 2007 04:11:56 PM
I was at Borders the other day, drooling over Stephanie Japels "Fitted Knits".  I love the book, but I have been fixated on the sweater she is wearing in the picture in the back (you know, with the 'about the author' stuff).

I may be a total idiot that should know this, but does anyone know what sweater that is?  Is it one of hers?  I checked her website with no luck. I didn't buy the book so I can't exactly remember- but it reminds me of Juno.

Anyone?  Huh
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Blocking Patons SWS on: June 23, 2007 04:57:09 PM
Does anyone know how much SWS will grow when blocked?  I'm making a wrap and the pattern is kinda loosey-goosey.  I finished one skein and it's only 10 inches.  I only have 3 more left and I bought it a while ago.  I'm afraid I won't get more of that dyelot.

Maybe it will get bigger when I block???

 Undecided
