is one allowed to buy designer fabric, make something and sell it online or at a craft fair or is this not cool?  i remember hearing something about not being able to sell Amy Butler fabric made items but is it like that with all designer fabric?

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Thinning Out Emulsion??? on: July 08, 2007 09:06:33 PM
I just bought a large container of photo emulsion.  It is the kind that you don't have to mix sensitizer in.  I got it from Standard Screen in NYC.  they said it's the best so i just bought this big thing of it.

well my images are lacking detail.  they look ok but not as good as when i use photo emlulsion that mixes with sensitizer. the emulsion seems to go on the screen so thick even after scraping it off loads.

does anyone know if i can add water to make it a bit thinner??? or is there anything i can do to get better definition and detail??

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / dark? on: March 24, 2007 05:29:07 PM
I'm getting ready to do my first screen and I'm excited but don't want to ruin it with light while coating with my photo emulsion.

My question is when do I have to be in the dark?  Do I mix the stuff and coat the screen all in the dark or mix it and then go in the dark? How dark should it be? How will I see what I'm doing Grin?  Can i use a red light?   I remember my friend doing this?

These questions seem lame but I cant find any info on this Huh
