I think they're fantastic, and would love to receive them as a gift.  I like the idea of adding lavender in some way.  I would also let the recipient know if the yarn is wool, since some folks are allergic to wool.  I really like the blue one with the extra bit of knitted "lace", but don't think anything else needed.
