Here is my second top completed for December. I made this using Vogue's "Very Easy Pattern" 8595. There were only 4 pieces and was a quick work up done entirely on my serger. I'm hoping to order a nice, thick sweater knit to try this again in a comfy, warm, winter fabric.

I think zebra print would be perfect! Just watch the placement of your fabric, to make sure you have the lines and breaks where you want them.

I made a very satisfying top using the Simplicity 2554 pattern and a wild floral print that I picked up from Yardage Town in San Diego. This was a quick and easy project that has me happy that I sew. lol. From coworkers and boss to people on the street - this piece is getting me the compliments. lol.



I am going on a cruise with my family in February and this will fit the bill to a tee!

I made my first jacket using McCall's 5378. It is unlined with way too many facings for my taste, but I still did it. The fabric is an Asian-inspired silk that I picked up near my work at Yardage Town in Kearny Mesa in San Diego. This was part of my Pattern Review contest challenge, so I am still happy with the outcome.



The back has a neat pleat detail in the swing coat, that I do like.

Thanks! I'm really happy with it. There isn't a zipper, just a pull on top. Even though the fabric isn't a knit material, there's enough ease to throw it on. If I were to make a more fitted one, I'd have to go for a side zipper.
