1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Infinity Scarf on: February 22, 2011 04:13:44 PM

I have become addicted to making these scarves. They are quick and easy but give a great punch to any outfit. I'm wearing it here along with my Simplicity 2594 top that I sewed late 2009. The scarf is a knit fabric and the top is stretch satin.

Thanks everyone! I think the dress does bring out the vavavoom feeling in me. lol.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Retro styled suede dress with pleats on: March 16, 2010 12:40:33 PM

I made this dress using Vogue 1156 pattern, a new and recent pattern. It has a lot of pleats and darts which adds to the sexy shaping that nicely frames my figure without showing too much. Even though I love the outcome, this project took me a bit too much time to try a second version....definitely a keeper though!

I bought the fabric at Yardage Town on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. in San Diego. I think it cost me $7.00 or so. Not bad for a party dress.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / 50s Inspired Dress on: February 02, 2010 02:27:56 PM

I made this quick and easy project (Dress 125) using the latest issue (2-2010) of Burda. It's from the 50s Rock Inspiration section. I really love the darts, shaping, and plunging back. There will be some more of these in my future, I'm sure. The only thing I needed to make this was the thread and stretch cotton fabric. The stretch was enough to omit the zipper from the directions.

The Vogue pattern was for a larger, visible hem, so I did use my Bernina. Although, now I am curious about if I could use my blind hem attachment on my serger. I may have to try it out, now. I'll keep you posted.

pjw3362004 - I purchased the belt for $12.00 at a store called Mileage. They sell mostly accessories, with some women's club wear. If you live in San Diego, you can find them on Garnet Street in Pacific Beach. I hope that helps.

I made this little number for my upcoming cruise I'm taking. I used one of Vogue's "Very Easy" patterns to make it. I picked up blue suede fabric from the local discount fabric store in Normal Heights in San Diego. I paid less than $16 bucks including the fabric, zipper, and tax. Can't beat that!

Really nice! I'm going to have to check out that fabric line, now.
