32  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Cute toile dress (new update! 8-13-07) on: May 02, 2007 02:53:48 PM
Here's my latest creation for my little sweet pea. It's got brown crochet trim along the bottom and on the straps. I think I'l use it for her 1 year pictures next week.

It's Made from 2 cloth napkins that I got on clearance for like $0.60.
The awesome thing is that I went back to the store (it's closing) and I found the matching tablecloth ($3.00) so I can make a dress for myself

UPDATE:
some of you wanted me to update you when I finshed MY dress. Well it's done! check it out:

34  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / cute or dumb? on: March 26, 2007 02:26:21 PM
I was thinking about making something similar to these for my mother and mother in law http://images.etsy.com/all_images/6/64b/5dd/il_fullxfull.6829682.jpg
and a matching apron for mothers day. I'm not sure wheather they would think it's cute or dumb. what do you guys think?
i figure even if they don't use them they would look cute in the kitchen.
35  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / baby snaps? on: March 23, 2007 10:21:24 AM
anyone know where I can purchase those snaps (not the sew on kind) that are used on baby clothes? I want to be able to purchase a few... not like 100 or large quantities like that. Know anywhere that carries colors too? I can't seem to find any on google.
36  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / beginner question on: March 16, 2007 05:45:39 PM
I don't know if this will make any sense but I need some help. how do i know when to stop at the end of a row? lets say you are basically making a rectangle... as I get on with my rows my piece ends up getting slightly bigger on the next row. Sometimes it's slightly smaller... like I'm adding one too many or one less stitch. Especially with a piece that's all double crochet, I don't know where to end my row. Any tips for a beginner?
